So let me give you a little bit of a background story. I have been going to this mom and pop shop for years to get my nails and arms waxed. They recently found out I was getting married and wanted to know if I knew who was doing my hair. They offered to do it for me, I know the owner and figured I would humor her and ask how much it would be for my whole wedding party. I think for 5 people it was less than $250. I thought it was a really good price but asked if I could schedule a trial so that I could see what my hair would look like.

Fast forward to yesterday and my hair looked terrible. I had a picture to show the lady exactly how I wanted my hair and it didn''t look anything like it. Her daughter who was in high school saw the pic and was trying to help and could understand more what I wanted. I left the place and my hair wasn''t perfect but I figured ok we will get it right on the actual day (I didn''t pay anything for the trial so I wasn''t going to complain). Anyway she told me my curls would falll because they were a little Shirley Templish. I went out and wore my hair like that all night. After three hours the curls didn''t fall but were super frizzy. I don''t even know how she managed that because when I curled my own hair that didn''t happen.

My point is, I can''t use this lady for my wedding even though I know her and have been going to that place for over three years. How do I tell her that I am not going to use her for my wedding? I feel really bad. I just don''t want to deal with this.

Aww, I completely understand.... situations like that are so awkward for me! I know you don''t want to hurt her feelings. Would it be possible to tell her you''ve decided to save money and do your hair yourself? Or maybe say that you want to go to your regular hair dresser because he/she''s been looking forward to doing your hair for your wedding?

Or you could always start going to someone new to do your nails and waxing

I would just tell her that you plan on doing it yourself. That stinks though, I''m sorry.

tell her that your normal hairdresser was quite upset when she heard that you had a trial somewhere else, and now you feel guilty and want to go with her, could you just have everyones nails done at the place so you are not ditching them completely? After all, you go there for nails and waxing, not hair, surely they will understand?

Go there to get your attendants nails done and tell her a family member who also is a hair dresser has offered to do your hair free of charge.

So I am relieved. I called the salon I always go to for my hair and they were able to squeeze my whole wedding party in the morning of the wedding. I just need to call the other place and cancel the hair appointment.

I hate akward situations like that.. I probably would never go back there.. but I lack a spine

I''d either just be upfront and say that you have decided to use your regular hairdresser or say that you are going to do it yourself.
