So, BF is going to be resigning in a few weeks, and wants to celebrate his "freedom" by SHAVING HIS HEAD.

No joke.

I absolutely cannot picture him without hair, and more than that...I told him that that''s just another way of his to postpone proposing bc there''s NO WAY I''m going to be live down engagement pics with him BALD(!) and how would I be able to enjoy the proposal if I''m staring at his head and thinking how much I''m missing his wonderful hair.

He laughed, I laughed (even though I''m only partially joking)...and he said he should propose first then. I said that was a good idea...

We''ll see what he really winds up doing....

Haha aww that''s cute. Maybe he''ll look good - some men look surprisingly good with a shaved head!

Hahah, that''s how he''s celebrating? That''s interesting. My boy gets what''s essentially a buzzcut every couple of months or so, because when it''s long it drives him nuts, but I love it! It gets all scruffy and tousled and looks very tasty and is fun to play with. Oh well.

There are a lot of guys who look great with a shaved head. One of the guitar players in my boyfriend''s band shaved his head when he started losing his hair and grew a goatee, and it''s a great look for him. The key to it looking good is having a well-shaped head and strong/attractive features. Facial hair isn''t a pre-req, but it ties the overall look together.

If you''re wondering what your BF might look like before he does it, the easy way is to take a picture of him and either white-out or Photoshop out his hair. You might be surprised at how he looks! The shaved head look (especially when combined with a goatee) works on most men. I couldn''t imagine Howie Mandell with a shaved head prior to when he did it, and I think he looks better now than he has in years.

Uncalled for Kate.

I had a boyfriend who shaved his head for fun once. And he was not someone who could pull off the bald look AT ALL. At least yours has a reason!

My BF has done this a time or two- it definitely takes some getting used to..... he was like a little boy- proud of what he did- all giggly and stuff... boys will be boys

Has anyone else on this board thought of shaving their own head? I''m not trying to be a weirdo - seriously.

I have hair almost to my waist. And it''s wiry and curly - kind of like a horse''s mane. If I put it in a ponytail, the diameter is almost too big to put my hands around. I condition the heck out of it, but it''s a handful. On one hand, people stop me on the street to tell me what "great hair" I have. On the other hand....they never had to comb snarls out of it, or watch it play Afro when it rains. Cutting it short makes the problem worse. And I tried to have it straightened once....ONCE...and it broke off in pieces (I am sensitive to a lot of dyes and chemical treatments).

At my previous job (sales-related), we had a trainer visiting from our satellite office. This woman had short hair. SHORT. It was about 1/4" long, which is basically a shaved head/crew cut. And it looked AWESOME on her. Granted, I don''t have the face for short hair like that, but on her, it was striking. She looked like Annie Lennox - it was not unfeminine at all. At the end of the training week, I had to ask her about it. She said that she buzzed it as a teenager after a bleaching experiment gone wrong...and got so many complements she kept it years later. So I said, "I have to ask -- how long does it take you to get ready for work everyday?" And she said, "Maybe 20 minutes....and that''s if I don''t already have an outfit picked out."

You gotta love it! I soooo envy the boys (and some girls) sometimes!
