So I ended up trading my BG studs in for a 1.587ct BG Blue diamond (G, super clean SI1) as part of my quest to upgrade to 3ctw studs. I had BG set it into their least expensive solitaire so that I can play with it while I save up for the second stone (which will be awhile, haha) and I love it so much! This stone has given me a bit of an identity crisis since I thought I finally figured out that I'm team step cut, but now I can definitely see myself with a round brilliant solitaire too! Oh man. I suppose there is nothing to be done about that, except start buying lottery tickets :lol:

Oh and as an FYI, the upgrade process was really easy and fast, even though my prior studs were G/SI1 and G/SI2. So for the SI1 stud I was only upgrading in one category, but that was a nonissue (my rep Emily never even mentioned it).

Oh wow I love it!!! I'm thrilled for you! This is a gorgeous diamond as a solitaire or one of your studs! Great idea to set it as a ring to enjoy!

You are the best and the sweetest!! Thank you so much -- I really appreciate your comment, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to find your perfect studs soon. You deserve them!!

A couple more, just for fun - I was at my hair salon today and the lighting was awesome so I tried to take a couple more pics. This thing is a complete glitter disco ball - taking good pics is tough!

That's an awesome plan and the stone is great too! I'm gonna end up doing the same thing I think. Get the stones in separate years. LOL! This will be a great pair of 3 ctw studs!

Man oh man oh MAN, that's going to make an incredible pair of earrings when its friend comes along :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: And how fun that you can enjoy wearing it in the meantime.

Looks like a real beauty!!

Haha - yes!! Do it :D It is still a bunch of money to put into earrings, but I've realized that with my earlobe size basically the only thing holding me back is the cost. If I had the money, I could easily wear 2+ cts per ear, lol!

Thank you so much! It is definitely going to be a little while before I'm ready to buy the second one, but I'm glad I was able to get my husband to go along with this project

Thank you! I'm really happy with this stone (and I'm going to miss having it as a ring once I turn it into studs haha).

Oh and I also meant to post the link to the stone, just for reference. This one is a lot cleaner than some other SI1 stones I had been looking at:

Awesome! I'm cheering you on!

I did pretty much the same thing. I threw my two 1 ct CBI studs into one 1.9 ct CBI and then saved for awhile and bought a matching 1.9 ct mate from WF. The waiting in between the two stages is difficult (I hate being without studs!) but it was so worth it in the end.

Thank you so much! I feel the same way; as much as I miss having studs, time goes by fast and I'd rather be working towards what I really want. (And this way my husband can't really change his mind haha, we will have to buy the second stone at some point, otherwise I'll just have two engagement rings lol)

1.9 ct each is the dream -- 2 ct look without the 2 ct price tag  Now that you've had them for awhile, do you feel totally satisfied with the size?
