I''m new to the forum, but am having such a great time browsing through the discussion threads and most of all the photos - you all have such stunning and gorgeous rings! So, given this, I have decided that I need to tap in to all of your wisdom for some advice. I am going to try to post a photo of the Christopher Designs ring that my fiance gave me for Christmas. He picked it out himself (bless his heart) and although it wasn''t originally what I invisioned for myself, I have grown to love it''s simple lines and it''s uniqueness. My concern at first was that the band was so very thin, it made me a tad nervous. The jeweler replaced the shank with a little thicker one which made me more comfortable. My dilemma now is, what sort of wedding band(s) do you all like for this ring? There is a matching ring that has diamonds all the way around, but also *very* thin. I tried the ring on and it sort of got lost next to the engagement ring. It just looked like part of the engagement ring band. I wouldn''t mind having a little more metal showing, but have been cautioned by others not to take the focus away from the engagement ring. This ring does seem to be designed for stacking, but I wonder what you all would think of two slim white gold bands on either side of the ring? (I tried this with a couple of my sterling silver rings and it didn''t look too bad actually, although I''m thinking the designer had something else in mind...like more diamonds!). I know that I can buy two of the matching diamond wedding bands, one for either side and create some major bling, but just wondering if anyone feels there''s anything I should really stay away from (or if anyone has photos of how they''ve mixed and matched their halo rings with wedding bands, I''d love to get some ideas!). I''ve been thinking about it so much I''m losing all perspective! Your expert advisement would be most appreciated - thanks a million!

Hello and welcome! Would love to see your picture but apparently the attachment didn''t work. Please keep trying!

Hi April,
Welcome to PS!!! Can you post a pic of your ring??

Hi April, Kaleigh I think she is having the same prob that I did posting pics because the samething would come up at my attch file link at the bottom of the post. If you have this prob over and over again April all you have to do is go to photobucket.com and join its free and upload your pic their they will resize them for you and everything. After you upload all you have to do is right click on the bottom image link and click copy then come back to Ps and right click and click paste. I hope that you don''t have the problems that I did good luck and I hope to see your ring soon ..

Gosh, I''m having trouble putting the photo up - so I will refer to a link that "Marvel" posted in another thread (not the link to the jeweler where my ring was purchased and mine is in white gold not platinum) If you scroll to the bottom row, middle photo with the beige background..that would be the one. Sorry for all the work!

Thank you! That''s exactly what I think was happening, I will try photobucket next time! Hope you can see the image from the link, but if you can''t let me know.

Oh April the rings a beautiful. As soon as I seen them what you had said about two narrow white gold bands to stack with the diamond bands was the first thing to hit my mind. I think that would give it just a little more metal and shine and still not yet take away from any other aspect of the ering. like I said beautiful.

Thank you! I saw the photos of your ring too, what a stunner! Your band is wider than mine, so you don''t have that "disappearing wedding band" issue. I''d like my wedding band to be visible. Yours are very distinct, I like that look. I will have to get back into the store and do some trying on, but meanwhile if anyone wants to share photos or thoughts of how to pair up a thin engagement ring band, I''m open to suggestions!

What fun!

that is beautiful! If it were my decision, I think I''d get at least one of those bands, if not both. I love how delicate they are compared to the "heft" of the e-ring. Your man has impeccable taste,

Ditto. LOVE the ring. I''d get the matching band as long as budget permits. If it blends in, well, oh well!

I have a similiar e-ring. Your right, they are not meant for ''stacking", a band won''t sit flush with my ring. I got a 2mm eternity band, it looks beautiful! and I like that they don''t sit flush

I adore this picture!

The rings are to die for!

I do think that they are a little to thin and might be at risk for bending but they are perfect to fit flush with a halo engagement ring.

First of all, congratulations on your engagement! Your fiance picked a beautiful ring...I''m glad you have grown to love it.
I think the matching diamond band or bands would look lovely with your ring.
I think it may be a little strange to have plain WG bands with all the diamonds that are on your e-ring, but maybe if I saw a picture of it that way I would like it better than what I''m imagining.
In any case, enjoy your beautiful e-ring and good luck!

Hi! Love your ring! I love your idea of 2 plain white gold bands on each side- it was actually exactly what I was thinking before I finished reading your post! I like the diamond bands too, but I really love the look of a diamond band in the middle of 2 plain ones and vice versa, 2 diamond bands flanking a plain one. All 2 or 3 diamond bands is gorgeous of course (and major bling!) but sometimes I feel like maybe the center stone just gets lost in little sparkles. Sometimes the plain bands help your eye steady on the focal point- but you''d definitely have to try it on to see your favorite combo. You really can''t go wrong 1 band or 2, plain or diamond, it is going to be a FABULOUS set!!! Congrats and keep us posted!

I like the way these 3 rings would look together if it were at all possible.

Thanks for posting the pics Mrssalvo! Yep, those would be the ones (gotta love magnification!) Thanks so much for all of your feedback, it helps me to read objective opinions. I do think I will be looking into two bands to "flank" the e-ring, so what type is yet TBD. I love the look of the diamonds too, but agree that I want the e-ring to be the focus. I think the nice thing about this ring is there is a bit of versatility possible. Actually, the wedding bands will sit flush with the ring, it''s designed that way. Not right next to, but sort of underneath the basket if you can visualize. So, it does tend to blend in with the band, but maybe with two bands I will feel more...married. lol!

It was cute actually, my fiance was guided (ever so slightly) by my sister in the decision to choose this particular ring. He called her before the holidays to go with him to browse as a surprise for me since he felt she would know my tastes. I later told him that letting her loose on a room full of diamond rings was like unleashing a german shepherd in a meat locker. He was brave to take her along (I love her dearly and I''m sure she felt honored to be asked). He really likes the ring and that''s what I wanted to be sure of. I said "Are you sure this was your decision? Because when I look at my hand, I want to think of you, not my sister!" He assured me that he had final say (sigh).

Anyhow, as I say, this site is so great - looking at all of your rings is better than chocolate! Not to mention less fattening. I''ve always loved diamonds, they''re my birthstone - but I''ve come to appreciate them even more in the very short time that I''ve been browsing this site. I''m sure I will learn a lot...

Happy weekend all!

Hi again April!
LOVE the ring. To reiterate my earlier opinion, I would definitely go with the diamond bands (1 or 2) but that''s just me. I usually like either a plain e-ring with diamond (or plain) band, or a diamond e-ring with diamond band. When I see diamond e-ring with plain band, usually I feel like the w-band looks like an afterthought, just my honest opinion.
I was confused about one thing you said in your original post, that the jeweler put a thicker shank on it. How did they do that? Do the diamonds not go all the way around?
Enjoy your beautiful ring! It is one of my favorites I''ve seen!!

I''d go with the matching bands too. You could always get a couple of thin plain bands to flank it when you didn''t want as much sparkle..

Hi there!
I totally see where you''re coming from, and I agree with you in certain cases where the w-band appears to be sort of "stuck" on just because. If it looked that way or took away from the e-ring in any way I would definitely not go that route. Remember that the bands would be so thin that they would probably appear to be part of the e-ring anyhow, so it''s whether I want them to be diamond or plain. My fiance said the same thing also, he wouldn''t want anything that might distract from the band of the e-ring, so we''re in agreement there (next quest will be deciding on HIS ring, I have a feeling that will be much easier!)

As far as the shank goes, no, the e-ring does not have diamonds all the way around. They''re only on the top to middle of the band. It appears as though they''re all the way around when you look at it on my hand (I will get you photos, I swear!), but they stop mid-way. The w-bands are, however, diamonds all the way around which means that they must be custom sized (I''m a size 4 or so, they didn''t have that in stock for me to try naturally). So, in an effort to make me more comfortable about the narrowness of the band, the jeweler put a slightly larger shank on and I wish I knew how many mm''s it is, but I don''t off hand (no pun)...suffice to say, it''s thinner than the typical band, and I wanted wearability. I don''t sleep, shower, etc. with the ring on, not sure if I''m supposed to....(do you guys leave your rings on all the time?)....but I did want to feel like I wasn''t going to wear it down in a year''s time. My paranoia was at an all time high the first week I owned the thing! I think I''m loosening up a bit now... :)
