Halo mm size for a 8.5mm round?

Hello pricescopers, I recently bought a 8.5mm round sapphire and want to set it in a diamond halo setting. Can you please share and the mm of the diamond melees? My jeweller thought a 1.2mm is suitable, though I am afraid it is a bit too small. Thank you

The inspiration style as posted as more than one sizes of melees.

Have you shared your inspirational pics with your bench?

You could gauge the sizes that suit by drawing them on paper or by using drawing tools.

I would do delicate for a halo on a stone that large but it's all preference.

A pic of my 2 CS rings pre-final polish, the pink red stone is a 9mm Rubellite, and the ocean blue stone is a 8mm Zircon.



The melee for the Rubellite is 2.7mm and the ones on the Zircon is 1.3mm.

1.2mm against a 8.5mm stone would be too delicate a halo for my liking, however, that's IMHO and personal preference.
