Hello! Im looking for halo setting suggestions for a cushion cut. I like pave on the band and no hidden halos. Something clean with with a thinner band. I have a Ritani halo now (no pave) and it’s held up well. Any brand suggestions that are durable? I’d like to stay under $2500.00. I like what I see on Brilliant Earth but I am not sure about durability. I also like James Allen and Danhov, but the latter is kind of over budget. Which brands does everyone like? TIA.

Can you post a picture of what you currently have and let us know why you want to replace it?

Can't post pic as I am on my phone, however the halo setting I like for a cushion is an air gap/line halo with a baguette or step cut trap in the middle of each side.
I believe I saw it in Victor Canera's website.

DK :))

I love the Emilya, but looking at lab grown center stones for more bang for our buck. It’s a bummer he won’t take an outside stone.

Victor can definitely source lab-grown stones, and since he cuts his own antique cushions, he might be able to get them in lab-grown for you.

Thank you! I’ll reach out to him.

Victor’s team sent me this example:
2ct F VS1

Can you help me with what questions I should ask? TIA. ☺️

Growth method:
...if CVD (and I'm pretty sure that this one is), ensure no issues from striations, no brownish or pinkish hue, no clouding or haziness.
...if HPHT, ensure it's Type IIa, no clouding, and no phosphorescence.

Advanced Images:
...ASET scope

...and anything else that would be specific to this style of cut, per the cushion aficionados that hopefully comment soon.

I'm going to tag tyty333 since she's much more knowledgeable about cushions.

It doesn’t come with a light performance score, so I will ask the suggested questions. Thank you. Sorry, I didn’t mean for this to turn into questions about lab cut stones. I know there’s a forum for that.

You can start a thread there and ask for feedback to get a great idea of what the optics would be for any given diamonds that you're considering. :)
