First off, I'd really like to thank the PriceScope community for all the informative posts!
We started shopping for an e-ring before we found PS & I'm so glad we didn't purchase til after we'd lurked a bit!

I was thrilled my sweety let me be a part of the ring building process- he wanted to make sure he got me something that we both luved. First we decided on a budget - an amount that could be swung without financing - and then we began the search...

We went to Tiffanys, Saks & other local B&Ms and then discussed the shape we liked best (princess) & the min clarity we felt cumfy with (VS2) & preferred color - after trying on D-Ks, our preference (well-cut) I-Js - they're so pleasing to my eye- completely captivating, such presence & personality.....

Cut, of course, was the most important factor.

After months of searching, we purchased the *ideal* center stone from Mark at Engagement Rings Direct & he created the bridal set of my dreams! (more posted in Rocky Talky under heading "Props to Mark @ EngagementRingsDirect.com" - thanks again Mark!)
The NY Appraiser said he couldn't remember seeing another as well-cut as our princess!

I did not get to see the finished product until my fiance proposed/swept me off my feet on April 5th in Bermuda, but I couldn't be more thrilled with the completed set (and to be engaged to my sweety)!!

E-ring center stone - Appraised as a 1A cut Princess (she's incredibly firey & blindingly brilliant):
GIA J 2.55ct (no worries about shrinkage)

Each white gold band is approximately 3.05 mms. Ring size 5 3/4. Baguettes are G/F/E's & VVS's.

WOW! That's quiite the honker! Your rings look beautiful, and your center stone looks huge! I like how the bands sit nice and flush too! Congratulations on your engagement! I think I'll put on some sunglasses to protect my eyes from all that bling!!!

Alexah, really beautiful ring. I think it's neat that you saw all those colors and actually preferred the I-J. I like them too. I love the baguettes set end to end in your rings. Way cool look.

Congrats and best wishes. Wear it in health and always happy times.

Didn't actually set out to get such a large center stone but wanted a really well-cut princess that *spoke* to me... after months of looking, we had to expand our search parameters a bit- hence the "honker"

But hopefully you can see why the stone captivated us...

I luv the bands
1.gif
they're smooth against my fingers & not too flashy while still adding to the bling quotient

I also luv that they're vintage(sque) yet modern.

I'm just happy happy all around!! Thanks again for the warm comments!
