First off, I'd really like to thank the PriceScope community for all the informative posts!
We started shopping for an e-ring before we found PS & I'm so glad we didn't purchase til after we'd lurked a bit!
I was thrilled my sweety let me be a part of the ring building process- he wanted to make sure he got me something that we both luved. First we decided on a budget - an amount that could be swung without financing - and then we began the search...
We went to Tiffanys, Saks & other local B&Ms and then discussed the shape we liked best (princess) & the min clarity we felt cumfy with (VS2) & preferred color - after trying on D-Ks, our preference (well-cut) I-Js - they're so pleasing to my eye- completely captivating, such presence & personality.....
Cut, of course, was the most important factor.
After months of searching, we purchased the *ideal* center stone from Mark at Engagement Rings Direct & he created the bridal set of my dreams! (more posted in Rocky Talky under heading "Props to Mark @ EngagementRingsDirect.com" - thanks again Mark!)
The NY Appraiser said he couldn't remember seeing another as well-cut as our princess!
I did not get to see the finished product until my fiance proposed/swept me off my feet on April 5th in Bermuda, but I couldn't be more thrilled with the completed set (and to be engaged to my sweety)!!
E-ring center stone - Appraised as a 1A cut Princess (she's incredibly firey & blindingly brilliant):
GIA J 2.55ct (no worries about shrinkage)
Table: 63
Depth: 70
Girdle: Medium, polished
Sym/Pol: Ex/Ex
Crown Height: 10%
Measurements: 7.6 x 7.55 x 5.3
Flourescence: Negligible
Each white gold band is approximately 3.05 mms. Ring size 5 3/4. Baguettes are G/F/E's & VVS's.
E-ring band has 22 .08ct channel set baguettes for an approx 1.76 tcw (the head is platinum).
Wedding band has 23 .08ct channel set baguettes for an approx 1.84 tcw.
Gulp - and now i'll attempt to post the pix..... thanks again everyone!
