Today we celebrate & honor those that have fallen while serving our country. Each soldier took an oath to support & defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And more importantly to bear true faith & allegiance to the same. Meaning they gave their life for a country they loved and believed in to protect freedoms & liberties that we sometimes take for granted.

We may not know them personally, just as they likely did not know you personally. Yet, their love for our country and brothers (& sisters)-in-arm gave them the courage to lay down their lives for our betterment. Let us never forgot their heroic sacrifices, and to always show them the respect & honor they deserve. And perhaps the simplest form of gratitude, by simply saying, "thank you".

Happy Memorial Day!

In memory of our fallen soldiers.
For all those who gave their lives to protect our country.
Their greatest sacrifice.

Thank you.

R e w i n d…by Susan Jarvis Bryant

If time could suck the bullet from torn flesh,
And pry its steely bite from splintered bone,
Stitch tattered life and limb to start afresh,
Unbloody muddy trench, uncast the stone;
If time could snatch back all each battle stole
With hands to heal the homeless, noiseless dead,
Breathe music into songless lung and soul,
Unfire the smoking gun, annul the lead;
If time could doom the poppy’s ruby bloom,
Fill Flanders Fields with waves of wheaten-gold,
Lift mourning clouds that weep in sunless gloom
With smiles of soldiers risen to grow old;

If time erased that piece of history
Then would we know the worth of being free?

Very well said and I thank you. And we must strive and stand up for our freedoms.

To all who served and now serve - thank you.

Prior to my career in gems I was a music educator. If you're a fan of amazing young people and pageantry, you may enjoy this presentation we staged in 2010. It begins as a tribute to our soldiers and concludes honoring the spirits of the fallen.

To our departed: We will remember.

My husband came home but many of his buddies did not. A piece of him stayed with each one of them. This is a somber day for us and many others. So many see this as a long weekend and not what it's for. Beautiful tribute, thank you.

Thinking of the brave young American men who never came home from the Pacific war in WW2
They came to NZ for R&R and for training and their presence reassured my grandma as our young fighting men (and my grandad) were all away overseas

Their ultimate sacrifice gave us a better, freer world

Thank you
