I saw it last night!!!! It was SO good, by far my favorite book of the series and now my favorite movie too! You are going to love it!

Ahh! Our movie house is not having a midnight showing

. Darn, I dont want to wait....

I''m sooooo excited!!!!! I was really jealous yesterday though because my boss (who hasn''t even read any of the books) got FREE tickets to a pre-screening! Not fair! But I''m going on Saturday (my friends couldn''t all commit to an earlier time

) Soooo glad to hear you loved it though, Paula!!!!

We ARE READY!! I tried getting advance tickets.. NO go... all sold out for Friday and Sat. SUCKS>.. My daughter has the date circled on her Calendar!! We are going to take them Tuesday after some of the hype has died done... But we have been looking forward to it since we saw the teaser back in March or soo....I am sooooo excited...

We''re going. I''m trying to find a movie theater right now (well, been trying since yesterday).

I''m bumming because I have to wait a little longer than you guys... it doesn''t come out until the 23rd here in Brussels! And even then I might wait until the crowds die down a little. I told my BF that he has to go & see it with me, even though it''s not really his thing, and he said no way. But then he saw the previews recently and told me that he would go because it "actually looks good". I can''t wait!

We''ll be seeing it on Thanksgiving along with the hordes of other families....we normally go to the movies before (or after) we eat depending on the time with my family and watch some sort of family oriented movie, the last few years have been Harry Potter and then Xmas were Lord of the Rings...wonder what Xmas will be this year!

Is it coming out already? Wow, time goes by so fast. We''re probably going to watch it after Thanksgiving or maybe the week of. The Harry Potter movies are getting better and better. I''m looking forward to this one.

Hubby just emailed me and we are all set for the 12:10 showing tonight.

Sweet. I know that I picked the right guy! ;)

The movies remind me of going off to camp- I got hooked on them about 6 years ago when I was a counselor at Camp Strawderman- I was fresh out of High School and my girls were 12-13 and I started reading to them before TAPS every night- 6 years later- I am a HUGE Harry Potter Dork. :) Thanks for reading my ramble.

SO excited!! FI and I are going to see it when we get home, with my baby sister and her new bf.. yay!

Allright who saw it? Who loved it? I thought that they changed a bit much from the book but still enjoyed it! Yea for friends who get you tickets!!! Yippee!

I saw it. It is great. Better than great!

AWESOME AWESOME. Got home about 3am, but well worth it!

It was great. Think I will see it again tomorrow. :)

My tickets are for tonight (with Mom and now Dad)

I can''t wait to see it and then write what I think in secret code just like the book thread

We are going on Sunday - my fav book so far too Matatora!!

Heather

My husband and I went this morning (friday 10 am) and ate popcorn for breakfast (which sounded really gross as we walked into the theature, but I ended up eating half the bag and totally enjoying it!)

Anyway the movie was good, but I felt that there was too much ground covered in the span of the movie. Some scenes seemed to abrubtly end and switch to new topics in a quick succession. I''ve read the book so the movie made sense, but it would have been better if it''d had been like four hours long and provided more of the story!

Oh and side notes - Mad Eye was hilarious and Krom was so hot!

What about another Peter Jackson movie -- King Kong?

We saw it. The kids got out of school at 12:45 so we saw the 3:15 show. I bought our tickets online and expected a long line, but we walked right in and got great seats!

It was fantastic! They had a lot of ground to cover because the book is such a tome . . . it was not my favorite book of the series (Prisoner of Azkaban was the best) but the movie was really, really good! A case of the movie being better than the book. Some of the scene changes seemed abrupt, but they did keep to the essence of the book. Actually, I can''t wait to see it again!

We caught the 12:35 show (had a minimum day at school)!

It was great! I can''t believe how much those kids are growing up. The movie ran 2 1/2 hours but I the time flew by and we didn''t want it to ever end! The special effects were awesome....Some great underwater scenes, the yule ball was downright fun, and the graveyard scene was frightening (thanks to Ralph Fiennes)!

My only wish was that the movie would run 6+ hours so we could get the ENTIRE book covered.

Can''t wait for RENT to come out next!

Hehe, gotta agree with Jelly - the only problem was that it was too short!

LOVED IT though!!!!!

Loved, loved, loved it!!!!

My parents arrived late so we had crappy seats (5th row) so 2 1/2 hours was long enough (especially when you add the 1/2 hour of previews prior) to be sitting in those seats but I thought the movie was good in covering the main events of the very action filled book. Sirius in the fire was cool!!!

When Cedric's scene happened in the book I didn't cry but when I watched it onscreen I did. How Harry couldn't let go

So do people show up at your theaters with robes and painted 'scars' like they still do at mine? I was surprised to see so much of that since it wasn't the midnight showing.

Harry fighting the dragon was awesome. I told you our seats were bad and my mom starting becoming nauseous.

A bit too dark and harsh in some spots - the PG13 rating is new - and valid.

I actually didn''t like it. I think part of the problem was that it was too short. 2 hours and 30 minutes. That extra 1/2 hour to push it to 3 woulda helped a ton. I think cuz it was so short, they had to delete or edit too many important details. I really dunno how they''re gonna do the next movie. I''m afraid they just screwed up the series.

Plus, all the stuff that was there, unless you read the books, you either didn''t catch the stuff or didn''t understand it. I went with my wife and 2 friends who all only have watched the movies. They were quite confused in many parts or didn''t catch/didn''t fully appreciate a lot of the character development stuff like when Harry and Ron were mad at each other.

I loved the first two, number three was good except I hated the director''s technical skills (or lack thereof), but I''d actually have to give this one a thumbs down. Sad, cuz this also was one of my favorite books of the series.

King Kong

Chronicles of Narnia?

Yeah, I feel that they edited too much book from the movie too. I think it would have been hard to follow had I not read the book (3 times
3.gif
). My FI has not read the books, but I always tell him what happens and he had quite a few questions after we saw the movie. That said, I still enjoyed it very much!!

I really enjoyed it! I wish it were longer. I would have loved to see an actual quidich match in that great stadium in the beginning.

I saw it twice. The second time I caught much more. It''s been a while since I read that book & couldn''t remember too much of the story the first time.

I enjoyed the books greatly, I think Jim Dale is a wonderful reader for the books, and I liked the movies. This movie missed out on some of what made the book great by the way the introduced the schools, and the important scene with everyone at the world cup. And what happend to Dobby and Winky? So much of what makes the trio rich charecters is skipped in the movies.

I think it was fantastic, but I have one concern- as the books get longer, will the movies be longer as well, or will they do what they did with this one, cut some parts out (i.e. the whole thing with the reporter was slimmed down a whole lot- as was Hermione and Krum). I thought Fleur was going to be more stunning. The effects were smashing, and I enjoyed myself the whole time. They sure are growing up into good looking teens, aren''t they?
