Just curoius??? I saw some good prices on http://www.dexclusive.com/ But i saw on Breitlings site that they arent an authorized dealer... So I guess Im just curious if they are authentic or not.. I mean... My reasoning they wouldnt suggest buying there is because then everyone would and people wouldnt make that much money off selling them??

Thanks :-)

I don''t know the dealer you posted; I bought a Jaeger-Le Coultre watch a couple of years ago from PrestigeTime.com, and I can definitely recommend Ben Herszberg (owner) and his team.

As far as I know, there are three reasons why you can find "cheaper than list" signed jewellery/watches:

1. Overstock/discontinued/last year''s collection
2. Closing down/bankruptcy stock
3. Copies/scams

With genuine stock, it''s easily possible to get a discount of 20-50% off list - at the price of not having the manufacturer''s warranty and of course a somewhat limited choice of models. Having said that, if you are looking for a recently out-of-production model, these dealers are often the only ones who can source it.

I am not a big watch expert (have only bought a few online, all somewhat expensive, but none of them of the brand-new luxury variety)...

Anyways, I went through a similar whole research phase when I was thinking about buying a new Cartier online. I learned (from PS and other sites) that there is a distribution segment called "grey market"...which is stores (mostly websites?) that sell authentic merchandise, but they are not authorized resellers, nor affiliated with the respective luxury manufacturers. Some offer their own warranties (which will *not* be honored by the makers).

Here is my "learning" thread about it: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/what-happens-if-i-buy-a-cartier-watch-from-a-non-authorized-dealer-such-as-amazon-com.72380/

Good luck!!

A.

PS - I just bought my first "real" luxury watch (a vintage Rolex) from an eBay powerseller with excellent feedback. I''ve taken it to a Rolex authorized dealer and a vintage/antique watch repair expert, and both say its authentic and all parts seem original... fingers crossed! :)

i bought my Lange from a (grey market dealer) and got full manufacturers warranties b/c the warranty cards were stamp and dated by an authorized Lange dealer.

I wouldn''t recommend it unless the watch comes with authentication papers. If it does, I say go for it!

I got my son''s rolex thru whiteflash.

I have a few Breitlings and there are NO ONLINE authorized dealers. I would not buy online you have too great a chance of it being fake you have no recourse. Also Breitling may not allow you to have the watch serviced which mean no battery changes or anything like that.

Actually the battery changes are the only real down side to owning on of their watches. It takes 6 weeks or better most of the time and costs a couple hundred each two or three years.

Hay Joe - How did Whiteflash help? We''re looking in Houston and would really appreciate help. We''ve looked at Tourneau and Ben Bridges so far. Thanks.

I purchased my Zenith though authenticwatches.com. It was a special order, not listed on their site, and the price was very good. I saved around 40% off the retail price. The special order was estimated to take up to 10 weeks but arrived here Down Under in just two weeks.

I priced the watch through prestigetime.com and they were around $400 more expensive, again for a special order.

The watch came in the box with everything untouched. Whilst it did not come with a manufacturer’s warranty, they do provide a warranty, two years I think. I was happy to take a bit of a risk, especially because you cannot by Zenith in Australia anyway.

Rolex?
Each year Pearlman''s has been selling their gift cards right after Thanksgiving at a discount (15% last year). You can use them on any merchandise in their store. They carry Rolex. So that is a way to get a Rolex from an authorized dealer at a discount.

Dancing... can you please share with me a name of an AD that can give me a good discount for a rolex or a cartier watch? thanks!

I never have and wouldn't buy from a grey market dealer. The thing to do is find out what the grey market sites are charging. Then you can call any authorized dealer and negotiate for that price or that price plus a token amount (100 plus per every 1000 to pay for the store, the customer service, or an amount thereabout). Then you kill two birds with one stone: buy from an authorized dealer and have no warranty issue and get a fair price. But I wouldn't buy from a grey market dealer. I don't see the need to take a risk. But do be aware the grey 'market' price is closer to the fair market price than is retail.

And why not? Warranties are worth very little given the limited time span for which they apply, the numerous exclusions and the generally high quality of timepieces nowadays.

i bought my Lange 1 from a grey market dealer. the warranty card was stamp by an AD. in 1991 i bought my Rolex day/date from an AD at 32% off retail.

I was considering buying a "pre-owned" Rolex from this Florida jewelry store which is also an ebay seller. They seem to have positive responses from sales.

I just called them and asked if they could get one, I gave them the model and style info (band, bezel, face, ect.) and they took care of it. Sorry for the delay.

I just came to know this website called GWM where you can find a lot of luxury watches from various watch dealers. Some of the dealers seem to be pretty reliable and their prices are good. Also, some of them provide an authenticity paper & warranty too.

Good luck!

Check out steindiamonds.com, they sell several brands.
