Ok, so I know I've posted about my 1.03 carat diamond before on pricescope (1.03 ct/si1/O-P with medium to strong Green fluorescence in an hourglass shape) but I figured this out the other day playing around with it in a black light, and have to know it's anyone has ever heard of this or has had this same thing happen...and I'm almost POSITIVE its NOT a chamelion, but then this happened...
I rested my diamond on top of a blacklight, admiring the green fluorescence it was giving off. The diamond probably sat for no more than thirty seconds to one minute..when I took it off, it was noticeably darker (in indoor lighting)than it had been before..what does this mean?..Or could it possibly be my eyes playing a trick on me? I asked my husband if it appeared darker as well, and after asking again, he said yes, but he was "too scared to tell me"..thought I'd be upset about it! Lol..but I think its cool..I'll try to post some pictures later of before BL and after BL , I've only had it for about 4 months and I don't have any type of grading report,(I know, I know )so I only know what the jeweler told me..doesn't look like any chamelion diamond I've ever seen, and its not like they were trying to pass it off as one..way too light(light yellow)..but what is it then if it does that? And what is THAT even called? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! TIA!
