Our anniversary is coming up in a few weeks, and my husband asked me to come up with some ideas and suggestions to make his shopping easier.

I went to the mall (yeah, yeah, don''t even say it...) just to get some ideas. It''s been a while since I''ve window shopped in the mall stores, and I can''t believe that quality of the stuff they sell! One store (I won''t mention any names

) Had a lot of stuff that looked really pretty under the case, but when the sales lady pulled them out for me to look at, even under the bright spot lights, the diamonds looked yucky! One ring that she went on and on about, saying it was one of their "best diamonds" was so full of inclusions, that I could see them even when holding the ring at arm''s length...lol. I asked her to give me some specs on the diamond, and her reply was "oh, this is one of the biggest and BEST quality diamonds in the store! It''s a WHOLE carat, I color, which is VERY white, and an I1 clarity, which is one of the highest clarity grades you can buy!" It took all my control not to bust out laughing! I asked her if they had anything that was higher in clarity than I1, and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said that I1 WAS the highest clarity, besides flawless. After that I left, shaking my head sadly...lol

I''ve also been looking at some things online. One I keep coming back to is in the FACETS collection. I really really like this ring. It''s a ruby and diamond eternity band. Has anyone got this ring, or seen it? Any opinions? I think that it would look very nice with some of my other jewelry, and seems very appropriate for an anniversary gift. I''ll try to attatch a picture.

I think it is quite lovely. Are the rubies in the band matched? Would they match the rubies you already own? Do you like the width of the ring?

I suppose I'm kind of assuming that the rubies will be matched. I have a few other ruby and diamond rings, but I wouldn't be wearing them on the same hand together, anyway. My other rubies are the dark red ones, not the light pinkish colored rubies. I also have a ruby and diamond heart pendant that I would probably wear at the same time as this band. The rubies in my pendant are baguettes, so I don't think the matching thing would be such a big deal.

I like the width. It's 2.9mm, and 2.2mm thick. That's close to what most of my other band rings are, and I like that size on my hand. I thought this would look nice with my solitaire, as a change of pace sometimes from my diamond bands. It has 1 carat of rubies and .76 carats of F-G VVS-VS diamonds.

Sounds like a perfect fit to me. If you like it and your hubby agrees to the price I would say snatch it up! It is lovely and finding pretty yellow gold peices is hard.

ooo, I think that ring is very pretty and would be a perfect anniversary present.

I saw some of their colored stone eternity bands this winter when I went to pick out my eternity band ring and they are awesome!!!! Picture perfect in my book, plus their prices are so good. I say go for it!!!

I think it''s beautiful!

I love that ring!!!!! It would be perfect! Elegant, but not too much...and you could wear it everywhere....

Well, I got a ruby ring today! It''s not the one I originally posted about, but I think prettier! It''s late, so I''m not going to take pictures, but I will try and get some tomorrow. A description will have to suffice for now. It''s 14K yellow gold with three round rubies which are invisible set (looks like tension set). Between each of the rubies are diamond baguettes. The rubies are very well matched, and a delicious cherry red! I love rubies, and it is so hard to find real rubies that are of good quality sometimes! I see lots of man made rubies, but they don''t do anything for me. Most of the natural rubies I see are the pinkish looking ones that are light in color and show too much in the way of inclusions. These rubies are gorgeous! And the baguettes are nice and eye clean, too.

Best part is I got a good deal...the store had a huge sale on rubies, since they are the July birthstone, so the ring was 40% off, and I got another 20% for using my credit card. Can''t beat that deal! I didn''t wait for the anniversary, though...guess he''ll have to buy me something else...

!!! I was scoping out their pink sapphires a little while I was there...

What you got sounds amazing. I too love rubies, when they are that pigeon blood gorgeous shade. I also love the stack look that is yellow, pink and blue sapphires on thin bands...so pretty!
