When I came across this forum, I was sure that I wanted a sapphire instead of a diamond. Unfortunately for Kris (or at least his wallet

), I''ve completely changed my mind and fallen in love with the hearts and arrows.

So because of that, I was just wondering if after finding pricescope, anyone else has changed their minds, and what you changed them to.

For me, my dream ring is this Mark Morrell, although it would probably be with a 1.25-1.5 center stone rather than the 2.2 shown.

Well, I still want the 1-carat asscher in a simple setting, but I''ve also found other rings that I really like (one of which will probably be the ring I''m proposed to with...) via Pricescope, and I feel very satisfied with what I''ll (probably) get. This is good because it means I don''t have to feel guilty about wanting him to get me the ring that''s waaay out the budget right now, and I still know I''ll have something great to wear on my currently naked left hand.

It has certainly broadened my "scope!"

I have always known that I wanted an old cut stone. I am an antique junkie.... and nuts for all things Deco. I''ve also always been a huge fan of these old cuts in lower colors....J''s K''s and L''s. The really glow from the inside and take on their own lives. Spectacular! It was nice to find that there is a huge following for warm old cuts here. This forum is full of ladies with exceptional taste! I felt so... validated!

It has given me an itch for huge stones..... maybe later!!! My dreams sparkle!

well... many many moons ago (ha!) I thought I wanted a princess cut solitare. Well, I read many post on here and the basic vibe I got from everyone was "You won''t know if you like it unless you try it on." Made perfect sense to me! So, I went to a B&M in the mall that I thought would be a good place to purchase a ring. I tried on their RB and princess solitares. I hated both! I also didn''t like the store, I felt the staff was extremely unknowledgable and was "putting down" more well known places likes Tiffany''s. I felt it was over priced for what you were getting too...

I went to Tiffany''s and tried on the Novo, and fell in love with the half Pave band and Cushion cut center. I didn''t fall in love with their price tags. Everyone on PS kept saying "have a tiffany-inspired ring created elsewhere." And it seemed a lot of people were going to local jewelers too. So that''s what I did... we went to a local, well known, reputable family owned store and created my Novo inspired ring. It might be done today.. but most likely Monday...while I''m out of town!

So, yes, Pricescope did change my mind. I''m so glad I found it because it saved my FF from purchasing a poorly cut diamond at the B&M and from getting a diamond I would have ended up hating. It also helped me convince him that we needed to create my ring together.

Ummm yes I originally wanted an asscher then a cushion and now finally I did a full circle have decided on a RB mainly because of the sparkle factor and the timelessness.

The setting has changed in my mind again and again and again tonight I finally decided essentially what head I would like which in itself is a major milestone (The SMTR eye candy folder is an immense help)

For the moment my dream ring is a 1.40-1.50ct ACA H&A D-F colour RB in a plain platinum setting with a scoopy 6-claw integrated head with some romantic little detail that makes it uniquely mine :), I am hoping this does not change between now and May :P

Nope. It has made me appreciate other rings but I have always wanted a lucida and that''s what I went with in the end.

Before pricescope, I didn''t even realize there were more options besides a round or a square diamond (pathetic, i know). I knew I wanted a halo with diamonds on the band as well, that has not changed. However, through pricescope I discovered and fell in love with CUSHIONS! It''s funny, because I have never seen one in real life but am in love with them. So now, I want a cushion halo

oy...so when i first discovered ps, i wanted a cushion with a micropave band. enter ritani. mmmm...but then i had a stint with antiques, now i''m set on a pave band with square-ish halo rb. weird!!! but i''m good to go now.

When I first came on here, I was pretty set on an Asscher. But after repeatedly reading (and finding on my own) that the pattern is not so visible in the smaller sizes that were in the budget right now, I decided to wait for an Asscher as a RHR when I could get it just a little bit bigger later on. I still absolutely LOVE Asschers and am mesmerized by those GOG videos of them, but I am happy to wait for a RHR when the pattern will be easily visible to the average person who has not ever seen an Asscher before. So, PS pretty much confirmed what I was feeling.

So, still wanting a square cut, the search was on. Without PS, I would not have found my Princess of Hearts! I absolutely love it! It is the perfect diamond for my ering. Also without PS, I would have gotten a smaller, lesser quality stone.

I''m not yet decided on my setting (I have to make that decision in a COUPLE WEEKS

), but my #1 contender is Leon Mege (who I would not have found without PS). If I bought a stock piece, it most likely would have been Simon G.

I also wanted an asscher when I first discovered PS, but after being here, I also fell in love with cushions. I ended up going with a cushion for my e-ring, but still lust after an asscher. However, due to similar reasons stated above, I will be waiting for a possible asscher RHR when we can afford something big (say 3 carats...) since asschers face up smaller and it''s harder to see the pattern in the smaller carat weights.

Oh my. I stumbled onto PS thinking I wanted a princess cut or a RB solitaire. A few threads later, I spotted a cushion solitaire that I adored for a bit. Then, after spotting Nicrez''s beaut, I decided I''d LOVE a rectangular radiant solitaire -- plus, less depth in the ideal radiant cut vs. ideal cushion cut also helped that decision ^_^. Even as I was craving a halo, the pictured rings were all solitaires because stones with pave bands, which don''t look very good on me. I''ve always really liked MINE''s set (RB with halo on wide band, flanked on both side with thin pave bands) and I was wondering what a halo would look like on a thin plain metal shank. A few months later, Gypsy came along with her gorgeous custom, and I''ve been hooked on that ever since.

And now, I love the emerald cuts and am planning on getting an emerald cut with a halo on a plain band. Hopefully I''ll actually get to wear it one day ^_^

Totally changed my mind.

I always thought I''d want an oval sapphire - probably yellow, with pear diamond sides.

Then... I met the Pokey Special and was hooked on tsavorites. I''ve ended up with a cushion tsav with channels set split shank. I would never have got to that without PS.

Having never been a diamond desirer - I''m now more than keen on OECs and transitionals, having seen Surfgirls. Maybe one day as a pendant.

ABSOLUTELY changed my mind!!!

originally i wanted a solitaire like a the 6 prong tiff. or the classic cartier one with about a 1.25-1.5 round center stone...

what i got is 10000000000 x more than what i anticipated, i fell in love with halos, and so did M so we (HE) designed a halo setting (similar to the tiff. legacy) in platinum, for ...haha get this a 2.15 ASSCHER!!!! and i love my asscher its like my baby, i love that many people in my community have never even heard of it..so i feel a little special haha

so has PS changed my mind about what i wanted: ABSOLUTELY
am i happy: ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

I think it made me A LOT more knowledgeable and brought me to my love of pave!
Darn pricescope, now I can''t turn away when i see a pave ring!

Most definitely! Before Pricescope I was practically dead-set against having a RB and/or a solitaire and wanted a Princess 100%. I didn''t really care too much for pave'' bands either.

After seeing so many wonderful RBs here on PS and after getting up my courage I went out to a jeweller here and tried on ALL kinds of rings and discovered that I DO LIKE ROUNDS! I also discovered that the antique-style rings that I thought were too "fancy" for me IMO looked GREAT on my hand.

What I have discovered is that most of the things I didn''t like in theory were perfect on my hand. So the final conclusion: Still don''t like solitaires for me but IF I were to have one it would be a Princess (RB didn''t look as good on my hand as the Princess in a solitaire setting). BUT RB is the way to go and fell in love with an antique-style ring (may have been a Faye Cullen) also tied for first was (surprise surprise) RB with micro pave'' (I think) a quarter way down each side of the band.

But over all of those I still love love LOVE the three stone oval with half moon sides and many small stones in the band (looks like a HUGE ring, TONS of sparkle) but absolutely PERFECT on my hand, the only problem is that it is WAY WAY out of budget... SO I suppose it will make a BEAUTIFUL RHR at some point.

Before Pricescope I wanted a RB.. then I fell in love with Pears, then ovals, then anything with a halo (especially pear''s and oval''s!), then anything with half/full eternity bands.. and now I''m back to wanting a RB with a 3/4 eternity band for a wedding band.

We''ll see what happens when I actually get engaged

I wouldn''t say that it changed my mind, but it def opened my eyes and taught me a lot about diamonds, and what really matters when buying one... I saw my dream ring about 2 years ago at a jewelry store, and have always said it was the only ring for me... Because of that ring I was instantly a Radiant Lover, but I now, bc of PS I totally love Cushion''s, espicially Prbaglady''s ring! (to die for). I know I am getting the original one I wanted, and it still fits me to a T, but there are a lot of sparkly beauties on here that I would not be upset to have!
