Do you have to worry about customs and paying when it goes back and forth over the border? You might want to ask for info
on that if you don't know how it works. I've never done it so cant help with that but we do have lots of PSers from Canada.
Yes I prefer to send the stone to the jeweler that is making the setting. I have actually sent off rings just to be sized because I have not found anyone locally that I trust
This. Just ask her for an insured label and be sure to follow shipping instructions for packaging. It sounds more daunting than it is.
That's what I was thinking... I don't know any local jewelers and I'd be heartbroken if a swap happened. I am usually not a distrusting person, but the engagement ring is bringing out another beast, haha. Thanks for the help!

Perhaps your vendor could send the stone directly to CVB?
I think I am going to go with Distinctive Gems for my diamond as my jeweler has worked with him before! I am new to this whole thing, so just trying to see what the norm is. Thanks for the help!
