Hi -

I need to make a decision by tomorrow on a mined 2ct round brilliant diamond for an engagement ring in platinum solitaire setting. I have three options. They are all slightly above 2ct triple-E VS2 ranging from G-H color. They are all within $1,000 of each other. I have seen the first one in person and liked it - have not seen the other two. Please let me know your feedback and which you think is best! Thank you!

Definitely not #2. The first and 3rd options have potential. Do you have a pic of the cert for #1?

Edit, just saw #1 cert.

Can I ask how much these are?

Thanks for the response! They’re all between 24k and 26k. Why not #2?

#2 has both a steep crown and pavillion angle, and just isn't as attractive overall (looks "messier" to my eye)

Congrat! And it's such a big purchase~

Not sure how much time you have spent for a research for this BIG BUY, but many folks here are really experienced and with extensive knowledge especially when it comes to modern round brilliant. Superideal vendors like Whiteflash is really a shortcut. I noticed you mentioned your 3 candidates are all G to H colored, so I further suggest considering below:

H colored stone, and larger diameter than the 2nd & 3rd stone that we can see the size. A few thousand more though. But with a diamond that size, contrast or hearts & arrows pattern difference could be obvious, so is light performance. And they offers some future benefits like upgrading.

If you are bound to other criteria, please do share, e.g. budget, where you' re living (may be with heavy tax buying oversea), commitment to a jeweler etc.

I second Whiteflash “A Cut Above” super ideals. Their diamonds are gorgeous and they have an awesome upgrade policy should you decide to do a trade in someday!

They have changed their policy now.
