Hi everyone!
Has anyone ever run into an error message about depth when trying to get an HCA score for a GIA report number?

Looks like you input the crown height% instead of the crown angle? Oh, and input pavillion depth % instead of angle.

The fields auto-populated when the GIA report number was entered. Good catch - thank you!

yea its not pulling that gia report data correctly.

I notified admin and Garry about it.

There has always been a calculator built in to calculate with trig the depth % and with a 15 degree crown angle and that depth the girdle would need to be extremely thick to add up.
So no error - just a very clever thing we added 20 years ago.

When the GIA report number is entered, the crown and pavilion angles aren't automatically populating...it's pulling in the crown height and pavilion depth, instead.

@DejaWiz On occasion the data we get for the reports can be inaccurate. It is why in step 2 we ask users to verify the parameters.

We are working on ways to minimize this inaccuracy.

Roger that - thank you, Andrey!

Just to clarify - once upon a time in a far away land we allowed the entry of crown and pavilion %'s.
The numbers were far too badly rounded and there were too many data entry mistakes so you can only enter ANGLES FOR CROWN AND PAVILION

I see data entry mistakes on about 5-10% of stones on RapNet
