I am now officially among the girls who know the ring is somewhere in the house... but unlike some, I have no idea where! And I've been quite naughty and tried to peek... oh my goodness, we only have 300 square feet; WHERE IS IT?!

ooooh!! I am excited for you! I know I would not have the willpower not to look LOL. :Up_to_something:
Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

Have you searched in the fridge? Taped envelopes under surfaces? Have you searched all the closets? Have you checked his underwear draw-perhaps rolled up in some underwear? My dh always kept important stuff in his home desk drawer so I never had too much of a challenge LOL!

oh gosh...i'm about to be in the same situation. i can't decide whether i want to look for it or not. :) i don't think i'll have to wait long once he gets it until it's on my finger but STILL! knowing its hiding somewhere in the house is pure torture. i'm already going crazy with anticipation!

are you going to keep looking until you find it? heh :cheeky:

I'm in the same situation! And I totally tore apart his closet and the den, two areas he suspiciously came home from work early a few weeks ago to "organize". But I can't find it anywhere!! It's probably for the best, as I know he wants it to be a surprise, and ultimately I want it to be too...but I can't stop myself from searching whenever I have time and am home alone. But it sure is well hidden. Apparently they know us too well *sigh*.

My FI hid the ring inside a headphones case (the giant Bose kind). Happy hunting! :naughty:

ETA: What about inside the box of something else (dry food packaging, extra toiletries and household goods, etc.)?

I know that FI hid the ring in the toe of his dress shoes, in their box on the top shelf of his closet. No way was I going anywhere near his shoes. :errrr: And that's how he transported the ring when we went on vacation. except he wrapped the box in socks before he stuffed it into the shoe and then kept them in his carry-on bag.

Could be somewhere stinky that he knows you won't go?

FI hid my ring in his locked gun case...I had no key and therefore zero chance of accessing the ring before proposal! Sneaky....

I'm the odd one out here, but I'm in the don't look camp.... I think some things are better when they are a surprise. He's hiding it for a reason. He wants you to see it in that perfect moment he asks you to be his wife. He wants to see the joy on your face  . I vote to just enjoy the anticipation, and let him do it his way.

Are you SURE it's in the house? Do you rent? Do you have renter's insurance? Could it be locked in the trunk of his car?

I'm not condoning snooping, but I know it happens. He's put it somewhere he's absolutely sure you never have reason to be in. The bar? His toolbox? Random empty ice cream carton?

I love that I'm not the only naughty little snooper!!! Hope he gives it to you soon! Mine has been in the house for nearly two months and it's driving me crazy! It is now hidden so well I have no clue where it could be! Hahaha!!!

I am also in the don't look camp...I didn't peek!

Don't snoop! You'll regret it. There is nothing better than seeing the ring for the first time when he proposes, don't rob yourself OR HIM of that experience.

Oh, and 300SF? Are you in New York or something?

Gold Coast in Chicago... I know, it's just pitiful haha.

As for the "don't snoop!" admonishers, I know, I knoooow... but I told him I've been looking, so it's his own fault if I find it :P

It's so hard when you know it's in the house, not to look. It's even harder when you do find it not to look. I peeked when I found mine, but that's bc I am a control freak and had to know if it looked like it did in my head..it did, so I can rest easy now! I'm glad I am not the only one who peeked! Oh, and mine was in a cabinet in the kitchen! REALLY??? LOL. I guess he figured I wouldn't go in there because it's a higher cabinet and I am vertically challenged?? Well, that's hard not to do when I needed something out of there and he wasn't home! Oh well..I will still be surprised since I have no idea when he is proposing! Good luck!

Ugh, it was utterly and completely *impossible* for me not to peek!!! First my bf freaking *told me* where it was?!?! We were laying in bed and he said something about getting married, and I said something along the lines of, "if you would give me the damn ring already!!!" and he said, "you want it? It's right there in the closet..." I didnt look for over a week, but one day he left to run errands and he left his closet door wide open. The box was sitting right there at eye level and it was just too much temptation!!! I peeked! And then I put it on and wore it about a week later... I guess I am very weak, but I just couldn't help myself! It has since been re-hidden and I haven't seen it in weeks, but I want it already, geez!!!!

Are you sure it is in the house? I hide all of DH's gifts (usually video games) in the spare tire compartment of my car....just saying.... :Up_to_something:

BTW I double-checked our floorplan last night and it's 600 sq ft... still pathetic but not as sad as I thought.

Don't look! I found mine because my DH just had it up on a shelf in our closet that I could easily see. I grabbed the box, popped it about a third of the way open then slammed it shut and tossed it back up on the shelf. I ran straight to DH and told him he needed to rehide it NOW.

I'm glad I didn't look, it made the proposal just that much more special.

I wouldn't snoop.... I hate to ruin surprises (except for movies I always WIKI them before I watch them)!

however if you do snoop good luck! :naughty:

HI:

Medical personnel. Don't ask!

cheers--Sharon

He told you?!?!?! That would have made me crazy! lol. It's definitely harder knowing about the ring and that the proposal is coming soon. At this point, I think I would have rather not known anything! lol

10000000% agree! Try to wait!! It will be sooo worth it!! Even though we custom made the ring, I never actually saw what it looked like with all the diamonds and such so I *thought* I knew what it was going to look like and therefore didn't think i'd be surprised but it literally took my breath away when I saw it for the first time.
