headband or barette?

I''m planning on wearing my hair up for the wedding. I have long, thick hair, and I plan on parting it on the side, and having it pulled sleekly up and having it curled with the curls almost hanging loosely from the updo. Sorry, I can''t find any pics of how I want it to look. ANYWAY, I always envisioned wearing a thin headband at the point where the curls begin and attaching the veil at that point too like this one:

I still want to wear the veil at the top of the curls, but now I''m starting to consider wearing a barette or 2 barettes on the side instead of the headband, something like this one:

What do you think would look better, a headband going across the top or barettes on the side? Oh, and if I do a barette, would I get one to wear on each side, or just one? I know flowers are usually only worn on one side, but I think a barette only on one side might look lopsided.

I really can''t envision it without seeing your face which makes SUCH a difference in what a haistyle looks like. Would you be comfortable posting one?

Hm... I''m actually having a hard time picturing a headband with a veil or hairclips with a veil starting at the top of the updo... but hairclips are, IMHO, more comfortable than a headband, and the clips you posted are really pretty.


btw: If you''re not comfortable posting a picture of your face, it would still be really helpful to just post a picture of your face shape, with the actual face blacked out.

I had a friend who did something similar to your updo, and she used a headband, and it looked nice. But, I dunno, those barrettes sure are pretty, and I think they REALLY complement the bodice of your dress. I can picture it looking good with that updo.
