Happy new week all!
I don't know where this year is going....
Now its August and the year is on the turn, the position of the sun is changing and I am so conscious of time passing....
To me this is a very beautiful time of year, the time of harvest and impending Fall, the weather is often better in the UK, not normally quite so rainy or hot with the other extreme, plus so many things to look forward to....open fires, trees changing colour, frosty mornings....
Anyway I digress! One thing I have been doing this past week in particular is really trying to think about each bite I eat. Whether I am hungry and need more food, or whether I am eating for other reasons. I have found this quite enlightening just to slow it down a little and concentrate on what I am eating. Often as we know it is the small changes which can really add up over time to give us a great result, so I am trying to work out exactly when to stop eating, not to wait until I am bloated or full up, but to reach that point where I can feel my hunger begin to diminish - for me thats the signal that I have had enough. Interestingly I find I remain full just as long as if I carry on eating until I feel really full, over time that can be a lot of calories saved. So this is what I am working on at the moment, it might be a good idea just to slow down a bit and try this out, just take note of how you feel when eating and where your individual ' point of plenty ' is. This can really on reflection add up to lots of calories saved in a week just by using this as another method of treating food as fuel and only ingesting what we need.
Have a great week
