Happy new week all!
First, I would like to welcome Zoe back to the thread, great to see you!
I have recently been working hard trying out weights. I think I have had a bit of a mental block where weights were concerned that I would bulk up hugely, plus handling weights didn''t feel good, I had lots of excuses! However I had committed to trying weights out for 2 weeks along with some cardio and already I can see and feel a positive difference.
I have kept things very simple, just doing some bench presses, leg extensions and dumbells but I have to admit already I have made some progress. I am so encouraged that I am going to continue with the weights, really I think my mind was sabotaging me that it wouldn''t be fun and what do you know....Using weights really isn''t that bad!!
The point of this is that sometimes our minds can be very powerful with negative influences that stop us from trying things or sticking to a program, sometimes I have to work hard to overcome this but once I do I always find the rewards are well worth it! I can always find a good excuse not to work out or to watch what I eat but I know that in the long term it isn''t helpful and I will regret not making the effort. The hardest part to me is always getting started, once I do then the rest just falls into place.
Have a great week
