heinous BIW moment

Recently, I was at a party with some of my friends from undergrad, one of whom recently got engaged. She was telling me about her dress, and she was really excited about it, it was SOOO cute to listen to her talk about it, and this other girl in the room (my friend''s girlfriend, who is normally really quiet) said, "it doesn''t matter because your wedding is going to be tacky as s**t."

what the heck!?! why would you say something so mean??

I know!! I was mortified!! I''m a little nervous for the bride, too, because my friend will definitely be invited, she and he are old childhood friends, but if i were her, i would not want his girlfriend there after that display.

i''m not sure... maybe? she was drinking and she is really young (19 maybe?) but either way, it was totally uncalled for.

I said something like, "that was rude." and her friend said, "Alex!!"

then i just tried to move on as quickly as possible. i could tell the bride was really hurt by it.

I know. Does she even KNOW THIS GIRL well enough to make a comment like that (like if her wedding was going to be tacky, and she got drunk and stupid and said some sort of inside secert outloud?) Not that it would be acceptable then, but the impression I''m getting is...she doens''t know this girl very well (her bf''s friend) and she just flat out says something like that. What a Beep!

lol, i''ll have to double-check but i''m pretty sure all pets are intact. she actually does know her fairly well, they''ve been in the same circle of friends for about two years, and it''s a relatively small group... i guess what she''s heard about the wedding so far just isn''t to her taste.
