I just wanted to introduce myself since I am new to the board and give a little background information about myself. I have been with my boyfriend for about 2 years, and we currently live together. Lately, I have come to the conclusion that we already live like we are married; therefore, I got nervous that he was never going to ask because he is happy with the way things were. Luckily, I was wrong because we started ring shopping about a month ago and picked out a style a ring we both like (which was quite a feat since we both have VERY different tastes!). Since the setting we found didn't fit our stone, we decided we wanted to custom build a similar one specifically for our stone. We ordered it and are currently waiting for the CAD design. We have both agreed that I will be able to OK the CAD design and the wax model, but after that, I will not be allowed to see it until he proposes. To ensure that I don't see it before he proposes, he is keeping it at his parents house. While I am excited that the ring is being created as I type this, I know that it still may be a while until it is on my finger. He has mentioned that he would like to get married next summer sometime. That means I may get the ring sooner than later, but I am trying not to get my hopes up because he knows how impatient and controlling I tend to be, so I am a bit nervous he is going to enjoy controlling a situation (for once!). Hopefully he doesn't have too much fun watching me squirm! It is nice to know there is a place for impatient people like me to squirm!
