do you have photo? ASET? DId you input the info into the HCA?

No, this is not one we would recommend. The crown and pavillion angles arent within the "safe" ranges.

We are happy to help!

Hi,the HCA score is 4
i bought it for 7,700 USD
i'm from South East Asia
the GIA said that it has excellent cut

but i'm confused,GIA said that it has excellent cut but HCA said that it's only good
i'm sorry to ask guys, because i'm very new on the diamond
thank you

It would be helpful if there are some images of the diamond but just looking at the numbers it unfortunately isn't a diamond that I would recommend because some of the angles don’t fall within the ideal range. Also, if I’m not mistaken, an HCA score between 1-2 would be more desirable.

Regarding GIA excellent cut, I believe “excellent” encompasses a range? I’m sure the pros on this forum will chime in with more info!

Hi here is the picture
Thanks

What are your intentions? Can you return it at this point?

Does the seller have an ASET or Idealscope image?

If you and your partner love it, then keep it. You both loving it is what’s most important. However if you don’t like it, perhaps ask the seller what the return/exchange process is.

Hi, the general wisdom I have learned here is that the vast majority of GIA-graded diamonds achieve a XXX grade. So, it's not as selective as we would like.
Basically, you want the diamond to take in all the available light in the environment and then bounce it back to you. That is what makes it sparkle the most. Some diamonds that are not well-cut will leak light, meaning they take it in but do not bounce it back to you. That makes them sparkle much less. There are some pretty specific combinations of measurements on the grading report that can ensure that your diamond bounces all that light back to you and does not leak any.
However, on all grading reports (GIA, AGS, whoever is grading) the numbers are rounded. In addition, factors such as clarity can affect light performance. That means that after you check the measurements against the ideal proportions, and check the HCA score (only used to broadly eliminate non ideal stones, not to select a diamond), you should get ASET and Idealscope images that actually take a specialized picture of your specific diamond to CONFIRM that it is not leaking light.
JannPaul is a highly regarded super-ideal vendor in Singapore and they have some great education videos that really demonstrate how this works. Please let us know if you can return the diamond (if you want to return it) and if so, if you would like suggestions of other diamonds and vendors. Are you comfortable buying from a highly reputable online vendor? Let us know; we love to help people shop and see people get the absolute best for their money.

Are you able to return? Unfortunately, GIA xxx is a very broad range and includes diamonds that arent actually well cut. Yours is one of those, and I would definitely return (if possible) and try to find a better cut stone

hi,i have one more question, why my diamond seems to have table glare noticeable ?
i dont know whether is it normal or not ? because it's my first time to have more than 1ct diamond

Are you sure the picture matches the diamond in the details of your original post? Those stats indicate a 60/60 style cut with shallow crown. The diamond in the photo appears to have a smaller table. (?)

In regards to your question about table glare, this becomes more noticeable in stones with larger tables and flatter crowns.

Hello yes it’s the same diamond
But some thing i’m quite worried about, compare to my previous diamond when i zoom on the microscope the gia serial number is quite faint compare to my previous diamond.
I’m afraid that eventho very unlikely the stone has been changed into a fake one ?

Here is another pic thanks

Can you post a picture of the side of the stone?

My biggest question is whether you can return the stone or not

Can you exchange it without forfeiting the 20%? Can the dealer provide options that fit the recommended parameters?
Are you happy with it or want something better?
If you want a better stone and the dealer cannot get you one, and I realize I sound like a totally crazy person here, I would personally consider giving up the 20%, just consider it a lesson learned, and go with Whiteflash (A Cut Above) Brian Gavin, or Jannpaul. This is just my opinion now after having seen super ideals next to the average cut. For an engagement ring, you just want to be enchanted with it, and lost in the sparkle. I totally understand if you don’t want to do that, though.

agree!!!!

hi from this pic,can it be confirmed that it's a genuine diamond or it could be a fake one ? i'm just being paranoid

We can't confirm from a picture. Especially these days when lab grown diamonds are so common. But if you can see the inscription then that confirms it's the stone you bought

Here is another pic thanks

From that pic it does look more like a 60 table.

Regarding inscription, when a diamond is initially inscribed it has black imbeddded in it from the laser burn. After setting, polishing and cleaning inscriptions tend to be more difficult to read. You might want to use a higher power loupe or ideally a microscope. If using a loupe, especially higher than 10X, it is very important to hold the diamond very still.
