Hows that for a long but descriptive title?
Ok, I have been reading up for a few weeks on how to choose a good sapphire, even been lurking her for the past two weeks. I feel that I know what to look for (theoretically) but I don't know how it should actually look since I have never seen a sapphire up close and trying to evaluate its properties.
I'm trying to find a pear shaped sapphire to put in a white gold pendant. Only the sapphire, no other stones. She is very modest with her jewelry and would like something that don't draw attention and is suitable for every day wear. Her colour preference is dark blue.
So off I go to find the perfect stone... In my price range (400-500$). First stop was the town goldsmith who said "no, I don't sell or order stones" and pointed me in the direction of the internet.
On the internet I was overwhelmed with stones, expensive ones, to good to be true ones, fake ones and so on.
A few days ago I found a candidate and it would be much appreciated if someone could give their opinion on the stone or point me in another direction.
