Hi everyone - I have always admired diamonds in all shapes and had the hardest time deciding on what shape to pick when I finally upgraded my engagement ring. I still have a longing to have other shapes in my jewelry collection and have been trying to figure out an idea for a fun project. I am curious what others think of this idea but I am also really curious if anyone has recommendations on a jeweler who could make this bracelet for me. I follow various jewelers on Instagram that sell loose stones but I am Leary to buy from them or ask for custom work without strong recommendations.

posted a pic of my inspiration but I am thinking I would like a cuff style bracelet with 3 rows of smooth white gold and bezel set diamonds arranged across each row. Middle row would have a heart in the middle and a pear on each side and top and bottom rows would have 2 stones on each row. Thinking a variety of stones, oval, east west elongated cushion, etc. I would want the stones to be fairly small to keep cost reasonabl. I’d love to do the whole thing for $3,000 but I am not sure if that is possible yet.

part of me wants to buy the stones over time and make it a fun collection but the other part of me thinks it’s easier for me to just have one jeweler help with the whole project.

appreciate thoughts and advice!

That type of twisted wire is not easy to make on a small scale.
If by smooth you mean without the twist - then that will make life easier.
The settings need to be wider than the band for this to work.

Budget seems tight given the amount of gold needed and current gold prices? Also what sort of stones are you thinking of? Diamonds will be pricey.

Correct, don’t want the twist on the metal.

Good to know - I haven’t paid any attention to gold prices so maybe it will be better for me to take my time and collect the stones first. Thank you!

Are you thinking of having many small rounds make up the shapes in each “setting”, as on the example? Or for each “setting“ to contain one large diamond of various shapes?

Each setting would have an individual shape. Eg one setting would contain a pear, one a heart, etc. just trying to figure out sizing that makes sense so I can start looking at stones!

You probably need to figure out what width the metal needs to be and based on that what stone size will be wider. That will depend on shape of stone so that each stone is wider than the metal. I think in this situation I’d figure that out and then collect stones one by one over time.
