Stone: 2.08 Emerald CUT GIA graded K IF

I'd never buy a K IF.
The specs are too different.
I'd buy a F VS1 or an H SI1, but never a K IF or a D I2.

It would forever bug me to pay the high price for the IF grade when it's only a K.

But if that doesn't bug you, go for it.

I get where you're coming from Kenny. Why pay for the extra clarity if it's already a K?

However, because a lot of people think like that, the K IFs are priced at a much lower premium than the D IFs.

For example, using this old rapaport list: http://www.alc-indy.com/RE/pdf/round-14-08-2015.pdf

Looking at 2-2.99 carats, the D IF is over 3 times the cost of the D SI1, but the K IF is only 30% more than the K SI1.

Oh exactly, HDer! When you get into lower colors, there isn't that much of a price jump for VVS-IF. I have an O VVS and trust me, I don't pay much for anything above VS1.

I have been ogling this ring for months. Still can't believe no one has snatched it up. I'd purchase it, if I was in the market, or wanted to upgrade my EC, but that's not my case, right now. I love the setting...T. D. F.!!!
