Hello,
I am looking for a decent quality lab grown round diamond in the 2.4-2.8 carat range. On my own research I have decided to stick to CGAL 8x certified rounds (these are still within my budget vs other companies proprietary cut lines like Whiteflash or JannPaul - which I would love one someday). I am now stuck on the limitation of seeing diamonds only online and am worried about strain and striations due to the CVD process. I have already returned one diamond from the retailer I'm working with (loose grown) and can only return one more diamond this year.
Here are the certificate numbers of the two diamonds on my short list: ( I am a size 7.5-7.75 ring size and want a decent sized/coverage diamond as a e-ring upgrade)
321700108 and 330380169

I would appreciate any input on these diamonds or if you have recommendations for an improved quality of stone w/o too much of a price increase, I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks so much for this community.

The experts here can help you! They found me a beautiful 2.81 hearts and arrows round diamond for under $1200. I was prepared to spend more around $3000 for a 2 carat stone and was so surprised and happy when they found all the options. This is an amazing community. Good luck!

I saw your thread as I was browsing.... I sound a bit like you, haha.

Haha oh yes I’m a mess haha.

@DejaWiz any chance you can help out here to find some beauties?

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, tkeg11!
I'm off to search and hopefully come back with a bunch of links for you.
Quick question: is GIA graded with the new optional AGS Light Performance addendum OK, as well, or are you just wanting GCAL 8X?

I just wanna decent diamond that sparkles and looks great to the naked eye. I don't care about the certificate. I also don't mind g-h color,.it will be set in yellow gold and inclusions up to VS2 okay, more comfortable with VS1 sight unseen. I felt like without seeing it in person 8x was my best best. I'm also open to HPHT but noticed those tend to be more pricey. Thx

Check these out - hopefully at least one grabs your eyes.

out of these this one is the one I like most

I did want to compare it to this 8x just because the cut is a bit more precise and you can almost see all 8 arrows. The color is higher and the clarity is less.

I'm trying to these these to fit our budget... would it be worth it to wait a bit and keep looking or do you have to buy when you see them?

The difference in appearance is because of the difference in lighting conditions between the two diamonds. :)

Here you are!

thanks. I also like the videos on Adiamore bc I can zoom in and out. It's not showing on their site (nor can I look there for a price comparison). This one is a top contender

You're very welcome!
Here's the full size video (just add /video to the end of the loupe360 URL after the grading report number).

Agreed this is a really stunning diamond. OP you should jump and buy it because most likely some lurker will grab it otherwise.

Please forgive me if I’m hijacking this thread but how do you search for GIA with AGS light performance in other cuts, especially emerald cut? I have mentioned before that BGD has them. I can’t find them anywhere else, even when filtering for GIA certif. only. What other filters should I be using, ( speficic range for table, depth) ?

No easy way to quickly find them - I go through them one by one until I see one with the AGS Light Performance addendum at the GIA site.

Thanks, DejaWiz. I appreciate your super speedy reply. I will keep slogging through them, as I have been doing. They seem to be as rare as unicorns, maybe even more so.

@DejaWiz I'm back... Sorta. Browsing in literally all my free time. I've gone a bit larger as I think I want a stone with more finger coverage. 2.7 - 3.5 carats (Ideally 3-3.3 ish)
I'm browsing GIA with AGS.
I've found a 2.71 with a red center on the AGS scope image. Would this be worth going down in smaller carat size vs others that have a green center on the AGS (or two green and red center triangles)? Does this even make sense?!

The red vs green center is because of the pavilion angle, nothing more. :)

I thought the red meant there was more light reflected back vs weaker amounts of light reflected back. All the White flash and JannPaul scope images have completely red images (sans the arrows in black)

It does, however the exception to that is the very center where the pavilion angle dictates the red vs green result.

Here are some Whiteflash ACA diamonds with red and green centers.

Ah.. gotcha.
When I'm ready to buy can you help me compare some of the GIA AGS to others that would be comparable? I'd love for it to be
< $2000 (and closer to 3 carats)

Absolutely!
Here is a list to get you started...not all of them will be sure-fire picks for the most discerning of us (myself being no exception), but there are some absolutely amazing looking picks in there even without the AGS addendum.

@DejaWiz Okay! I have a short list and am ready to min/max these diamonds.
One is at the absolute top of my budget at $2170 and a little over 3 ct, so I'm needing to decide is the extra $470 worth it vs the 2.8 or 2.7 ct stones. When you're here and ready I can list the links to the diamonds to discuss. thx
