I would like some thoughts on this 3 stone fancy yellow ring from Diamonds by Lauren. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-53ctw-Fan...689?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35e5f00381

Is this a good buy? From my searches, DBL seems pretty reputable.

I just recently discovered fancy yellow diamonds and of course that led me to DBL. But I know nothing about how to select a fancy yellow diamond and haven't found much help in the knowledge section. Would appreciate any threads or links that discusses fancy yellow diamonds.

Thanks very much!!

I'll defer to the experts for specific advice on the ring. But I just wanted to point out that I think pricing is better on their website than eBay, and that DBL may offer a further discount to Pricescope members if you contact them directly. http://www.diamondsbylauren.com/ind...s1-cushion-cut-three-stone-diamond-ring-r6256

David is really friendly helpful over phone, email, or in person if you are near NYC.

The 3 FCDs look well matched in terms of colour and facet pattern. I expect the FCDs to look more like the hand shot below most of the time. The setting looks well made, well finished and structurally strong. Other than that, do ask about whether they come with any lab reports. I also agree with Carmen to contact David off eBay due to the added eBay fees. He is reputable and I have no hesitation in dealing with him directly through his website.

Great thanks! Any other recommendations for vendors who carry yellow diamonds?

There's the usual Leibish.

I got my engagement ring from DBL. David is fantastic and I also agree, get in touch with him outside of eBay. My ring from them apraised for over a grand more than what we paid for it.

If you do go with David go to his website not eBay. I've seen too many photos he took on sale on eBay from someone who is not him.

Also I think he'll give you a little discount if you mention PS.

David knows his yellow diamonds. I bought one from him a few years ago, and am very happy with it. You can trust him to get the best diamond and price. He also had the setting made.

James Allen has some nice too.

Is it concerning that there is no lab report posted on the website? I noticed that some rings do and some don't.

Also, I'm a little leary of buying yellow diamonds sight unseen. I've seen plenty of white diamonds but very rarely do I see yellows. Would you say DBL's policy is upstanding?

Ask David whether these come with any lab reports. It is very likely that he'll have no issues sending it out to GIA, if requested. DBL is an upstanding vendor so I would not hesitate to order it to see it in person.
