I hope everyone is doing well. I'm in the market for a pear cut lab-grown diamond and have narrowed down my search based on the following specifications:

1. Carat Weight: 2.5 to 3.5 carats.
2. Color: F or higher.
3. Clarity: Eye clean, VS2 or better.
4. Length to Width Ratio: Between 1.58 and 1.65.
5. Minimal Bowtie: I'm looking for a stone with a minimal bowtie effect.
6. Type: Preferably CVD Type IIA.
7. Polish and Symmetry: Excellent.
8. Budget hard limit for loose diamond: $1200, though cheaper is nicer right now.

While I feel confident in finding diamonds that meet these specifications, I'm still new to assessing some quality aspects. I've come across terms like mushy facets and light leakage but am not entirely sure how to identify these issues or understand their impact on the diamond's overall appearance.

I would greatly appreciate any advice, tips, or specific Diamond recommendations. I have a month or two to keep looking.

Currently the plan for the ring is white gold or platinum. And solitaire or pave. Though my girlfriend has continued to share some more custom settings with me.

Thanks for your time and help.

This one is a little outside the ranges I mentioned. But it is the first pear where I can see pretty good symmetry.

Is the top middle of this what you call mushy facets and if so how does that affect it?

I know the inclusions are pretty visible in the 360 view. But I assume as a VS1 this will be Eye clean?

Also it seems to have a minimal Bowtie, but is that just do to the videos lighting?

I know this one is bigger than my girlfriend wants but I like the way it looks.

Another one my girlfriend likes.

Does anyone have any opinions that would rule any of these out? Am I looking at all good ones, bad ones?

Thanks

The table seems very small for this stone. Might I propose this stone in your budget? I would recommend you to this website to know the best parameters for your diamond in Pear Shapes to get the diamond with best sparkle

This is a stone I would propose in your budget. This is a 3.06ct F VVS2 EX EX None stone with perfect parameters. It will come at $1200 total. You can always reply to this thread if interested

Thank you,

That does look nice. Is the lighting the reason that doesn't show much rainbow while rotating? It's the first stone I've seen a real lack of color reflecting.

Is there a specific ratio that table and depth should have? I'm not certain why the table is small or which of the diamonds you are referring to?

Ignore this poster. They are spam trying to sell you stones (which isn't allowed on PS)

I Know that the following don't all meet my listed specification guide, but the girlfriend has seen these and liked them initially, I have more videos coming but if you can help evaluate any obvious shortcomings.

We will hopefully see some next to others, as my girlfriend is pretty sure that the last two will be too large for her.

Without ASET images it's really difficult to check on light return (it's hard for fancy cuts to start with).

The two I lean towards are
LG612337985 and LG638403866

So in this image (the stone you posted pictures/videos of above), I've outlined the "good" facets in green and the more mushy areas in
orange. The mushy areas are where you have more virtual facets where the light bounces around more before being returned to
your eye. The more the light bounces around the more you lose so the light return is not as good. This is typical of pears though.
The pointy ends will not have as good light return and will have more pinpoint type sparkles. The green areas will provide bigger
sparkles/fire. So when looking for a pear stone I try to find a wide area of green (that doesnt show black facets). Usually try to
find a stone where the table is smaller than the depth and there is some good crown height when looking at the side of the stone.

Based on the videos I just added those are the two my girlfriend narrowed it down to as well. I don't think we would be disappointed in either. Thanks for your help and making me feel reassured in our thoughts.
