I''ve enclosed a really bad drawing (sorry!) of a ring my wife likes. She found it at Friedlander''s (mall jewelry store). It is a pave setting for a 1-1.25 c round cut diamond. The pave stones are .70 c, g/h and vs2 (suprised that they were rated that high). The ring is white gold, the prongs would be platinum. Friedlander''s wants about $1800 for it, $2000 if they have to modify the setting and put new prongs in (it''s sized for a 1.25 c stone).

Although you can''t tell it from my sketch, it''s rather attractive, and the ring is delicate looking (her ring size is 4, so she needs something smaller). The pave is around a little "basket" (for lack of a better word) and not elsewhere on the ring. When viewed from above, it doesn''t detract at all from the center stone, which we like.

Is $1800-2000 in the right ballpark? Are there any other designs we could compare against "online"? Thanks!!

Comparison... at WWW
and WWW perhaps.

Thanks! I did a bit of browsing around, the closest matches seem to be Michael B

That's the style we're looking for

Like this? http://www.viachi.com/new_items/2rings/ring1.html

I've always loved this ring...

I've also seen these at the Bailey Banks and Biddle stores, minus the shank engraving, but they will no doubt be very expensive (but they are beautiful!).

The head is a basket...sounds old fashioned..check out this link for alot of older style type rings...with diamond pave basket heads:

I just love this type of setting. Your GF will be very happy, Mikelot.

David,
Do you sell that type of semi mount for rounds?

Thanks

Icestore.com has a very similar version to that, Id email them and ask. I know he makes one. Its the Bailey Banks and Biddle Lineage and he can make it for any shape stone.

Hey, I'm new to this whole forum, but I am looking for information on the Bailey Banks & Biddle Lineage ring. I'm trying to find out if it can be custom made so it's less expensive, ie: white gold instead of platinum...etc. If anybody has seen rings similar to the Lineage or has any ideas of where to find a jeweler who can do this, please let me know! Thanks!
