I''ve enclosed a really bad drawing (sorry!) of a ring my wife likes. She found it at Friedlander''s (mall jewelry store). It is a pave setting for a 1-1.25 c round cut diamond. The pave stones are .70 c, g/h and vs2 (suprised that they were rated that high). The ring is white gold, the prongs would be platinum. Friedlander''s wants about $1800 for it, $2000 if they have to modify the setting and put new prongs in (it''s sized for a 1.25 c stone).
Although you can''t tell it from my sketch, it''s rather attractive, and the ring is delicate looking (her ring size is 4, so she needs something smaller). The pave is around a little "basket" (for lack of a better word) and not elsewhere on the ring. When viewed from above, it doesn''t detract at all from the center stone, which we like.
Is $1800-2000 in the right ballpark? Are there any other designs we could compare against "online"? Thanks!!
