Help! I came across an OEC

Had insomnia due to sound of the rain waking me up, and browsed some jewelry. Now that I've seen this ring, I cannot forget about it. I'm not familiar with diamond pricing, but I love the chunky facets of OEC, and this one checks all the boxes for me. Should I blow an entire year's bling budget on this ring, or hope for another vintage OEC to come along at a more opportune time?

Yes I seem to recall someone asking about this exact ring. I don't remember the details and hopefully they will chime in. If you are considering this ring I'd like to see videos to assess the faceting and the performance. You are paying for the center stone and I would want to make sure the price is fair. What lab graded it?

Is it me or are OEC's more expensive than MRB's now?

A dealer just posted this diamond. On paper it seems great but does it have a fish eye? Could just be a super-close photo where the facets under the table are picking up the black camera. Are you able to get a video?

@missy @meely @maryjane04 thanks for the info. It seems the center diamond was graded EGL SI3. I've never gone for a diamond center before, and the melee on my more important CS rings have never been lower than VS...

I guess I'm not super picky about flea bites along the girdle, but the surface reaching feather concerns me, as the center diamond is definitely the tallest, and would be there stove getting knocked if any accident happened. I love the idea of French cut rubies, but from the video that was shown, the ring did not wow me. I guess, I really do need to save my money to set my paraibas!

I totally get you. I loved that ring too - well the idea of it at least. But was unimpressed with the centre diamond so it was a no go.

Your CS collection is amazing!! Set those babies so you can enjoy those neon colours.

Your OEC will come when you really want it to. The folks here are amazing at finding unicorns! There's an OEC out there with your name on it

Are you talking about the dark green with the pale yellow? Not sure I'm going to set it that way, but it's a chrome tourmaline with some chrysoberyls.

@voce This is a gorgeous ring and oh the finger coverage. But a EGL SI3 is really a GIA I1.

At 3 o'clock there is a beige colored feather. Beautiful ring, but not eye clean.
