I''m in need of some help.

I have a LOGR setting thats just sitting around empty. its a 9x7 oval, white gold with a halo. Here''s what it looks like. I need to put it to good use! Its likely the final project of the year.

Here''s my wishlist:

I want something thats either Pepto bismal to hot pink (not princess pink, and not peachy) or green. I only like yellowish greens in peridot and Sphene and sphene is out of the question (my jeweler will probably disown me if I make him set another! *lol*)

Blueish green is a-ok, but NOT in peridots (I know I know I''m weird that way) Minty green its ok but can''t be too expensive.

Or heck, throw out a suggestion, I''m not stuck with pink or green but I do like my colors wild.

Oh and my absolute upper limit for this stone is 215.99 US. Don''t help me spend it all in once place, mkay?

Not exactly pink or green, but I''d go with a rhodolite or an amethyst for this one - just feels this setting might work with those colors. Or maybe even a dark red of an ordinary pyrope garnet, don''t know, could work. Or how about a nice brownish hessonite, or anything of similar color (brownish spess, zircon...). For some reason I think deep tones might work better in this setting than light ones, but I could be wrong.

Well, if you're looking for hot pink, this one is in your price range and size. I've never bought from AJS, but I know others here have.

ETA: Its # SPI0927RK and $198. 1.76 carats.

In the past I paired it up with some deeper colored stones. I dunno, they looked ok but wasn''t exactly spot on.

The red is Rhodolite, the blue (teal) is Zircon. Neither stone fit the setting.

These colors look almost royal to me! I like the color of the zircon, but I can see why you want something bright in there! I'm partial to white gold with that pink, myself.

Is this too small to fit your setting (could it be tightened?)? Stone: Umbalite garnet (Rhodolite), Weight: 2.04 cts., Clarity: VVS-VS, Dimensions: 8.57x 6.17x 5.06mm. $170.

ETA: Yikes, big, sorry.

If it can be tightened, there is this one, too. Stone: Rhodolite Garnet, Weight: 2.00 cts., Clarity: VVS-VS, Dimensions: 8.64x 6.34x 5.03mm. $120. They''re both GemRite.

Tone/color? I''d have to see it to know what you mean.

Yeah...no idea how it might look in person. He described it as pink but I see some orange in it on my monitor (which might not really be there). Hey, you are getting a padparadscha colour for under $200!

How about pink AND green, like a watermelon tourmaline? Just throwing it out there.

color looks a bit deceiving,, here is momachristine, but I have to go hunt mine down, however on these mali garnet, they have great dispersion and sparkly too. but it does tend to have morre yellow, however I didn't like how mine looked next to yellow gold it clashed imo. so I liked mine with wg metal color.

Hey MC, I got it from Kyle Anne Metals on etsy

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6926984

I asked for bezel with rope twist in silver and love it. very comfortable. great bezel too.

I''ve got an Umbalite Garnet from John at Gemrite and it''s gawjus! It glows with a pink intensity and I''d be seriously tempted to look at both the Gemrite options.

Is the Zircon a round cut or an oval? I actually think the teal looks stunning in that setting and I bet really sparkles doesn''t it?

Slight threadjack, but Arcadian, if you don''t like the GemRite ovals, I might steal one for myself! The idea of it set e-w in a twisty setting like D&Ts is getting to me!

That came out sounding much more like a threat than I meant it to

Its an oval but quite a short one. It would look really good in the setting but a bit too short and its got a bit of a belly on it.

Personally I''ve never run across this color in a zircon before, so I HAD to snatch it up!

Hey go ahead! They are amazingly gorgeous but as I don't want to modify the setting, they wouldn't fit. Besides, I'm asking for extra pics of the spinel anyway

That one may be a go!

I have the exact same ring that I ordered to set a blueish green tourmaline. Here is a picture.

Really? How exciting! Its pretty, no? And that would be the first time I''ve found someone a stone, I think!

If you decide to get it after you see other pics, post pics, I''d love to see!

Pink totally isn''t my color, but that raspberry garnet is calling my name.

Gorgeous stone! If it fits the setting, it will definitely make an eye-popper of a ring!

Im a little concerned about the width and the the fact it can get a bit dark. I certainly have to think about it through.

I''ve contacted Gary about a pink already, though I''m thinking it may be too peachy for me.
