Hello lovely PS ladies! I have been searching for, trying on, and changing my mind about settings for the past 6 months! I think I might be loosing my mind! My boyfriend is planning on using a family friend''s jewler to have my engagement ring made (one who recreated a to die for version of the tiffany legacy ring), and I keep changing my mind in terms of what I like. I want to get his input as well, so we went and tried on a few rings together, but as soon as I think I have decided, I change my mind again. I think he is getting close to being ready to have it made so I need to make an executive decision rather soon :)

Has anyone else gone through this? I mean, you are supposed to have this "ah hah" moment when you find the perfect one, but I think I have had several of those moments and then changed my mind! Some would say to choose a solataire in the meantime, but I really don''t like the way they look on my hand.

If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way. If it helps as a general description, we are a very relaxed couple and I would like something that doesn''t look like what everyone else has (I''m from Southern California if that helps anyone get an idea). I like the idea of a round diamond, about 1 carot in size, but then I tried on an oval split shank and like that too. Initally I started off set on a round diamond with a cushion halo...now do you see how confused I am!!! I like the look of a round stone with an eternity band, but then I feel like everyone has that. Uggg, I''m driving myself mad!

Haha.. soo many gorgeous rings out there! How can you choose just ONE?!??! I know, I can sympathize..

How would you feel about leaving it all up to him? If he''s been shopping with you then he at least has an idea of all the things you like.

I know it''s easier said than done, but put it all in his hands! Then it will be something special that HE designed/chose... just for YOU!

welcome, e!

i would love to help you out, but i am actually a victim of the same indecision. like namaste said, there are so many beautiful rings that it''s hard to pick just one. jewelers have been telling me that one will "speak" to me, so for the first time in my life i''m actually hoping for a little voice to guide me towards the right decision.

i''ve decided to pick a few that i love and then let my boyfriend go from there. for me, relinquishing power means releasing engagement related stress. this should be a happy time!! do whatever you need to do to make it easy!

i think that you should decide on shape first. round, square, cushion.. you have to start there. then decide the "look" that you are going for. that should help you figure something out for the setting. as far as not wanting something someone else has then i would stay as far away from a solitare as possible. not that there is anything wrong with them, they are just bought most often as e-rings.

i do think that you will know when it is the right one. narrow down first and then it will be much easier
