Hi. I have been inactive for a bit since my former fiance died of Covid in 2020. I am now with someone else and very happy. To that end, we are looking at oval diamonds on James Allen.
Our budget is $5,000.00 and I prefer a longer, slimmer oval as opposed to the shorter, rounder ovals. While these ovals are higher color, I am comfortable in the range of H on up. At this age, am not so eagle eyed. Finding a non mushy oval with minimal bowtie and even light return is the top priority.
The ovals that we have on hold at James Allen are: sku 18074378, sku 17065402 and sku 17954863. I also kind of like sku 17725458. The last diamond is smaller with broader facets so a different flavor.
Please forgive me but I am not certain how to post the links with my phone. Any advice on posting links to the diamonds would be appreciated.
Plus, how do you use loupe360? Loupe360 was not around the last time I was on the boards. And to tell the truth, ovals are a new shape for me so feel free to suggest a different diamond and if you would explain to me what you like or don’t like about the diamonds and what I should look for that would be very beneficial in this process.
Thank you for your advice and suggestions.

I am so sorry for what you went through. Losing a loved one had to be devastating. :cry2:

I'm not finding the stones on JA (except the last one). Are you in the US or, are you looking at a different country's availability?
I can link them if you want me to (once I find them).

Some say Rhino has the best ovals, he claims no mushy stuff at North and south ends of oval, and no bowtie.

Thank you. I am in the US. They are all approximately 1 ct stones. They are an E SI-1, an E VS1, and a D SI-1. The E VS1 is a modified brilliant though gia only states brilliant and is the most expensive at $5,020. The E SI-1 is the “bargain” stone at approximately $3400 and the D SI-1 is a little over $4,600 iirc. The E VS1 is the largest diamond at 8.49 x 5.29 while the H IF is the smallest at 7.74 x 5.44.
Thank you very much @tyty333.
I realize color over F is overkil. I picked these diamonds out by shape, then contrast pattern and finally eye clean appearance. All but the H are long slender ovals. I am unable to get asets on the diamonds on hold according to JA.

If you tell me their exact prices and exact carat weight I may be able to track them down.

Edit...in the meantime I'm going to post some that I think are worth a look. I have to go do something then I'll be back for
more searching.

Got a little something on the table but has nice faceting

OP
Did you look at the ovals by AV?
Wondering what you thought.

None of them are all that great as far as faceting pattern and good light return. The E/VS1 would be the best
but by best, I mean average. I think the desire to find a longer/thinner oval is going to affect how nice of light return
you get.

Let me look around and see if I can find something on the longer side that has better light return...fingers crossed.

Here is a link to adimor ovals to take a look at. These are G+, VS2+ with a 1.5+ ratio (longer/thinner).

I'll try to find and post some that I think look good.
