Help me choose between two diamonds please (JA exchange)

We decided to exchange my new James Allen True Hearts 1.02 ct diamond and go with a bigger stone. My fiancee thought it would be a sizable difference from my original .90 ct ring (this was an upgrade & JA requires 2x the price of the original diamond). He thinks it looks exactly the same as the old diamond and thus not worth how much we paid to upgrade (though the quality/brilliance/sparkle was very apparent to me). Once he put the thought in my head I started to feel the same about the size, though, and I really don’t want to upgrade again, well maybe in 20 years, lol.

We ordered two loose diamonds to compare - both are 1.3 ct, H color and VVS2 clarity. Both scored well on the HCA tool (one was .8 and the other 1) and both have wonderful proportions. The JA agent I spoke with said they will look exactly the same to the eye. However, one is a triple EX GIA stone and the other is a True Hearts ID/ID AGS stone. The difference in price is nearly a thousand more for the True Hearts. They won’t ship for another week but I was hoping to get some opinions if you really think they will look pretty much the same (not under the scope) or if visually it’s worth paying the extra for the AGS stone.

If you want more size have you considered dropping down to a VS1 or VS2 instead of a VVS2 as you are paying for something you won’t see unless under a microscope.

I’m ok with dropping the clarity - I‘ve just found limited stock certified by AGS with the ct size and price point I’m looking at & the table and depth ranges I’m entering. I’m being pretty selective, trying to find the ‘ideal proportions’, I color or above, 1.25 ct or more and under $10k.

The sec one has a thicker girdle..so it is not really optimal in terms of size. i will go for the 1st one, with AGS ASET since there is better assurance in terms of light performance too.
