I feel like wedding planning is making me totally indecisive - I want ever color under the rainbow. Growing up I had always wanted a spring wedding so we are having it in May. I always thought I would want pastel colors and an ivory bouquet but I really think I like color now.

My choices are:
1) chocolate and green with pink accents, or chocolate and pink with green accents. I could either do a light pink bouquet like here http://www.nancyliuchin.com/Press/Pages/Heard_FINAL.html (9 pictures down), or I could go with a brighter pink peony, with green flowers & leaves and then add some dark chocolate tableclothes

2) reds, pinks, purples and brown and green as accents. I really like the flowers in these two pictures but I am wondering if they are too dark for a spring wedding.
http://www.nancyliuchin.com/Portfolio/Pages/Aubergine_FINAL.html or the first bouquet on the top left here http://www.tapestryflowers.com/port_pink.html

Also, our venue is here http://www.herecomestheguide.com/location/detail/calistoga-ranch/ and I am using the designer who did the event pictured with the pink/purple flowers and could just do something like that (but with an all chocolate tablecloth).

The look I am going for in the wine cave is modern yet romantic and cozy feeling and I think dark colors may be better yet brighter color might make it pop. I have to decide on bridesmaids dresses too so whatever color is decided for the flowers needs to translate well to dress (which again I liked chocolate dresses but may be too dark for Spring).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I vote #1 gorgeous for a spring wedding

I like #1

I also love your venue! Good choice!

Thanks joy80!!

It looks like so far spring colors are winning. I was kind of leaning toward the dark colors but you guys are making me reconsider.

happyinlove - thanks, my venue was originally going to be a winery but the two places I ended up wanted didn''t allow any dj''s or music other than soft music and no hard alcohol (which was a dealbreaker for some in my family). This is a good compromise cause we still get the winery feeling with the cave and also get to have a dj and mixed drinks.

I love the idea of the wine cave! How intimate and unusual!! Because of this, I would recommend light colors as there may not be a lot of natural light coming in. I would want to keep it nice and light and accented with some of the brighter colors.

Since your wedding is in the spring, i''d go with the #1 choice. I''d do pink & brown with green accents. Like stated above, the brighter colors would be better since the cave will be darker and most likely have minimal lighting.

That''s just my 2 cents, but this is your wedding!

What a gorgeous venue! I really love both color schemes. The first is very beautiful and springy (I did a chocolate/pink/green theme), but I'm loving the purples/pinks/red too!

It's a pretty combination that I haven't seen too much of. The richer colors remind me of wine. If you really love that combo you could keep it light by adding the pinks and lighter greens which you talked about. That'd be a pretty contrast. So I'm of no help, but I just wanted to say that I think they're both really beautiful!

Thanks everyone for your responses!!!

There is a smaller wine cave connected to the main cave that will have couches and louge chairs in it. Would it look strange to use the darker colors in there and maybe tie those darker colors in somewhat with the overall theme by incorporating the darker pinks I would use in the main cave? That way I can have the best of both worlds.

Also, for the wine cave, the ceiling are quite high. Do you think talk centerpieces would we better to fill in some of the empty space or are low table centerpieces the way to go?

See I told you I am so confused

your reception place is just gorgey!!! i love it!! soo romantic. hands down i love chocolate and paler green with bright pink accents color scheme! i think the brown and green flow with the place beautifully and tiny pops of bright pink would brighten it and make it festive, fun, and spring-y!

I think it would look nice if you used accents of brown in the either space. I just would stay away from a chocolate tablecloth. I like the idea of brown accents though, bows, ribbons, place settings etc. Is your venue the same one in the picture? or is it just similar? If it''s the same place, I just would follow suit and keep with a lower flower arrangement. The chandeliers are low enough and fill the empty space in the center. If it''s not the same place and the ceiling heights are enormous, I say, sure go for that tall centerpiece. Just be cautious to the fact that you still want guests to be able to talk to each other and not blocked. When I got married, I had like a topiary that had a thin part in the middle so the guests would be able to see each other. I think there''s definitely a way to use the colors you want to.

So it seems everyone agrees on the pink, green and brown. What color silk table cloths should I use then?

heraanderson - my venue is the exact same wine cave in the pictures. The way they took the picture makes the chandeliers seem a lot closer than they actually are in real life. I was there a few weeks ago and I remember them being pretty high and thinking I needed something to fill the space in. Maybe I could do alternating tables of some high and some low??

i highly recommend both highs and lows to add interest, keep the eys moving, as well as help fill the space. i love the dark chocolate pintuck tablecloths and i think they would help ground the place and draw the eye down, giving a cozier feel. another pretty option would be ivory tablecloths with dark chocolate linens.

This is one idea for what I could see in the venue. I would do an off white or ivory silk tablecloth, I''d do a brown chair cover and a light pink ribbon on the back of the chair. I''d pull in the green from the flowers and have light pink and darker pink flowers. Also, I think you could do a tall centerpieces (I did the virtual tour). but I wouldn''t alternate the heights.

Also, is your reception during the day or night?

heraanderson - I like the idea of the pink chair ribbon and the brown chair pad. Maybe I could use a pink tablecloth (probably would have to try out different lighter and darker pink colors) then tie in the green in some way.

My reception is going to be at night. I really wanted an outdoor wedding initially so my compromise was doing an hour and a half of appetizers outside on the lawn overlooking the lake. Then at about 6:30-7:00 we will go into the wine cave and spend the rest of the night in there.

Thanks so much for your great ideas.

That appetizer table outside would be the perfect opportunity to do a brown tablecloth
