Help me decide between these two diamonds!

Hey everyone,

Please help me with your expert opinion to decide on these two diamonds from James Allen for my girlfriend of 10 years. I’m looking for the most brilliance, sparkle and best light reflection. I’m going crazy deciding. Which would you select?

1.50 Carat emerald diamond

I think they are both really beautiful, and seem very similar. I marginally prefer the 1.51!

I'm going to tell you what I see...

The first one has too many "off" facets at the same time for me* (YMMV). They are flashing nicely though and they are flashing all the
way into the center of the stone.

The second stone is somewhat static in the center. It is doing a little bit but most of the good flashing seems to be outside the
table more in the crown area.

Just for background, is your GF set on an emerald cut? They dont sparkle like ideal cut rounds, so hopefully she has seen lots of emerald cuts. Also, how color sensitive is she, and what is your budget? We can help you find alternatives

Ok, so without knowing your budget, here are some from JA that I like due to how "lively" they are when they move. Of the 2 you linked, I much prefer the 1.51, but think you can find better.

May be out of budget but I think this is more lively than the 1.51 you linked:

Btw Op, by "off facets" I mean facets that are showing black. Not sure if that was clear.

I have a 3.66 emerald cut and I love it. It sparkles but different than round brilliant. I love the first emerald cut that you showed us. Both are gorgeous IMHO

I feel like the 2nd one is a bit more lively.
I don’t think you need other suggestions.

I don't like either of those choices. Emerald cuts are really sensitive to anything less than a spectacular cut.

If you're looking for sparkle, you don't want an emerald cut.
