OK everyone!

Im working with a company right now on the design of my invites. We want to use our baby pics on the invite (its just SO us to do that). So they said we could do a folded card, no vellum, or a flat card with thin vellum over the pics. At first I thought I wanted vellum over them but with the sample they emailed me, I wonder if that will look goofy or too busy.

Ok so here's a sample but I doctored it on Paint to add our names and dates. They sent it to me with just the pics and it looked empty so I typed in our names and dates to see how that would look.

Ok what do y'all think? BTW the border is the tartan of the kilt my fiance is wearing on our wedding day.

1- Folded cards, with our pics, no vellum with our names and date similar to as shown?

2- Folded cards with our pics, no vellum, with our name/date in one space next to one pic and maybe a poem or something next to the other?

3- Flat card with our pics, no wording on the card just pics, with our invitation wording printed on vellum overlay and tied with a ribbon.

I will include examples of what it could look like from another site I saw.

THANKS!

not anything like it, but this one has a vellum overlay for your imagination :)

Normally I would like the vellum too, but I see what you mean w/ it maybe looking to busy ~ I think that if you were doing black & white photos w/ no tartan plaid, vellum would look great. But, I love the plaid & the cute pics so I think that my vote is for your second option: names & date in one space, then a quote in the other space. Very cute!!!

typical but this could be what it would look like with a poem. Or we could just ditch our names all together on the front and just use a poem! argh! too many choices!

I like the first option.. Name and date on the front. Obivously you''d use a better font. ;) Then you can put all pertinent info inside, and if you felt like it a quote or poem could go on the right inner..

I don''t think the vellum option goes with your theme.

I vote for number two, with the poem or something on the side, and all wedding information inside. Normally I''d pick the vellum overlay with the invitation info on it like you have posted, but it doesn''t work with the two baby pictures and the plaid border.

i vote for 2. or even the flat card, no vellum. cute pics!

I vote for number 1 or 2...I love the concept.

No vellum. I like it with the poem, like the sample with the baby pictures. I like those fonts too. Love the idea!!!

Hi everyone!

We finally decided on the invitations! Thanks to everyone for their opinions and advice. They are kind of plain but so are we. They will be folded like a birthday card and will have our wording inside, and we went with a simple hunter green border around the photos to match our colors.

I think they will look wonderful PNP!!

How the hell did I miss this!!!???

I think they will be great. I did like the tartan idea though.

Thanks everyone! ame i liked it too...it was fiance who wanted to ditch it! i said, well, ok, I guess it IS your wedding partly too (LOL)

BAH! He has no say ;)

Oh my, that is so cute! It brought tears to my eyes...the pictures of you as children and the wording about "marry my friend..."! It''s just so sweet!

Thanks selflove! FI and I didn''t know each other as kids, but I liked using that quote with the kid pics because it made me think back to when I was a kid, and how we little girls and boys back then had a truly genuine, innocent friendship (well at least in my time they did lol). To me, the heart of a good romantic relationship is a true genuine, fun friendship on which everything else builds, and thats how I feel about my fiance.

sorry for the cheese factor!

Well i guess we will get our tartan border after all! Of course once printed fiance says "They look too plain", I was like, "well you were the one to tell the printers to ditch the plaid border and whatnot!"

So I contacted the printers to see if it was too late to change things, and they said, yes, too late. Later that night I got an email from them saying that they were playing around with ideas because they too though the invites would be too plain and they knew i wanted the tartan and vellum at first, etc.

So they are rush re-making them for free and i think it will be better. Actually the proof they showed me, they thinned out the plaid border so it wont look so "busy", I was worried about that at first but truly they will look cute! So we will now have just flat card with our pics and the border, and our wording will be on vellum tied with a hunter green bow.

We decided to keep the quote but we used it as a "header" or "title" to lead into the invite wording.

I cant wait to get them! yay!

Very cool! How exciting they are going to remake them for free!!!

So so so cute!
