Help me find a tanzanite for my birthday!

I've definitely got the colored stone bug! I want to find a tanzanite as a birthday gift to myself! I'm looking for a round or cushion that will eventually be set in a cushion shaped double edge halo. My budget is about $350 (450 if I stretch it). And i would like it to face up smaller than my e-ring (pear shaped 6.5x9.5mm).
I don't know much about tanzanite or what colors are more valued. I really like the one with a mix of blue/green/purple. I prefer the uniqueness of this over to the solid color ones.
So far I like these:

1.47ct, 6.6x4.7 mm
I'm not sure if it's just me, but does the top look narrower than the bottom? Everything else I like about the color. It is listed as unheated.


1.83 ct and 7.5 mm
This one is smaller in ct, but closer in face up size to my e-ring. Does this look like a small window in the center? It says it was recut from a larger, windowed stone.

And of course I'm open to anything else if you think it fits the bill!

Those are both gorgeous, you can't go wrong with either one. And happy upcoming birthday

Which one I'd choose would depend on the setting; if you want a custom setting, I'd go with the cushion, but if you want a premade semi-mount setting, the round would be the better choice.

(FWIW, I'm no expert, but I wouldn't call that a window in the round gem.)

Thank you! I think I will most likely go with a custom setting from DK. But it means I'll have to wait longer to save for the setting. It is tempting to go with the round and a semi mount just so I can enjoy it sooner!

That to me looks like an open culet. If you're worried about it and don't like how it looks, go for the cushion cut.

I like the cushion peacock tanzanite too, it’ll look fab in a halo.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to pull the trigger and get the cushion! Unfortunately it will be quite a while before it gets a home as I have other projects in mind too.

I love untreated pleochroic tanzanite!! It’s one of the few colored gems still on my list. I prefer the cushion. Happy birthday!!

Oh dear this made me get the tanzanite bug again and I went on an Etsy hunt. This one is heated though so likely doesn’t have any green. It’s also oval. But i thought it was unique and thought I’d share. I love your choice though because it’s got that interesting green tint
