HI Everyone? This is the front of my dress (simple) and the booty looks like the second picture but with a low cut back with 4 rows of very thin string corset ties in ivory. The back also is puffy-er and a longer train. The interest of the gown is definitely the back. Any ideas?

how long is the train?

i would do a 1 layer (so you can still see your train really well) cathedral veil with no embelishments.

I agree with you on the one layer cathedral length veil but i really want to wear a blusher but as soon as the blusher is folded over the veil gets too thick, i.e. too many layers...is there a fix for that?

Skylah, your dress sounds gorgeous. May I ask who makes it?

I second your idea of a blusher!

Hi EBree! Thanks so much! It''s a Marianne Lanting Couture dress. It''s a mix of her Edelwiess and Waltz dress, called Sonia''s Waltz. It''s a custom dress that she makes for Panache Bridal in Redondo Beach.

I was a sort of worried about being 32yo and wearing a ball gown, but hopefully I''ll be able to pull it off!

can you do a mid-back length blusher or waist length? that way it''s not taking away from seeing your train?

hum... if you walk down the aisle with the cathedral legth veil & a blusher and the blusher is over your face, then no detail from the back is lost in all that tulle. and when you get to the unveiling, and the walk back, will that be the only time where the veil covers your back? are you planning to wear a veil at the reception?

I think in our ceremony, the Dad does the unveiling so it happens pretty much right at the beginning. iwonder if I should keep the blusher on the whole time? We don''t have a kiss in the church in Armenian Orthodox wedding ceremonies so I don''t know of another appropriate time to do the unveiling....

I plan on taking the veil off for the reception because I definitely think cathedral veil is the way to go.

well then for that short period of time, i think the two veils is ok. the first and most remembered moment for the guests is of you walkind down the aisle the first time. you''ll have the cath. and blusher over face. not too much to me.

also, i''ve seen a style of veil that''s all one peice and it goes over your face and is flat on your head with no puffiness, then i cascades down your back to a cathedral length. would that work?

Thanks for the help, Jcrow!

I think it''ll be the cathedral with blusher and I guess you are right...people will see the back with the one layer veil when I first walk down the aisle (and a very long aisle at that!).

That''s called a drop veil, and I think it would look gorgeous with you dress, Skylah!! Then again, I''m biaised because it''s my favorite type of veil...

Skylah,

I don''t know the name of the veil I am thinking about, but the veil zig-zags-down on the sides; it may match the back of you dress!

BTW, your dress looks absolutely great!

Thanks for the help, everyone!

I am really thinking about a drop veil, too. We'll see once I have my hairstyle selected. I wish I had a picture of the back because it truly makes the dress.

It's kind of the opposite of Kaleidescope's dress in that it has no detailing so I am going to have some amazing accessories. Since the back is cut so low, basically a few inches above the waist with a few rows of thin corsetting (with no privacy panel, i.e. skin showing throw the corset strings), I am thinking of wearing an amazing lariat. Think that'll work?
