I'm having trouble finding a well cut pair at James Allen. Does it need to be from James Allen? Would you consider J color?

Hi Kim,
I really want to stay with I. Its my sweet spot. I would consider other vendors. How do you feel about the diamonds I posted?

unfortunately the options you posted aren't well cut. I definitely would make sure you get the best cut possible because that's what makes diamonds sparkle.

love dogs,

Thank you these are beautiful, but for sentimental reasons it HAS to be 6ctw.

I thought it was to good to be true. This is why I need you guys.

HI:

I was window shopping on Beladora and saw some studs in the size you are interested in but I think they are spendy......

cheers--Sharon

perfect ...but yes spendy

Girl. We got you. I need to feed the fam. Back after to hunt

Pickings are slim right now :???: I’m looking for “unexpected” stones to keep price down. The sorts of stones that most searches will toss but that are actually nice - baby with the bathwater situations.

This pair is unorthodox but they’d be bright and super sparkly IRL, especially as studs. The inclusions in the JA will be visible IRL, though. Matched on the strong blue fluor! There’s a bit of a size diff, that could be concealed with some prong work or a bezel.

This pair. Great match. They look scary in the JA photos - the over-black, that’s just obstruction from the camera, they’re a touch shallow which is actually a benefit in earrings. But they’re J which is lower than you wanted.

I assume I know the answer because you posted in RT but lemme ask anyway - how d’you feel about labs? Or half and half lab and mined?

I really like the blue nile/ J A pair. :kiss2:

might be too bright as I have a large K diamond? I want them to play nicely.

Nahhh. Totally diff faceting style, that makes all multi-piece matching much more forgiving IMO. I wouldn't think twice about pairing H/I/J/K earrings and ring, if you like all the stones involved otherwise.

Edit: But if a side-by-side visual colour match is important to you - I'd say drop to L or K in MRBs.

I really have my heart set on I color. That's what I have at the moment.
Anyone see any great I"s out there? What should I look for in terms of cut?
Thanks everyone:wavey:

How do you find stones with that patterning? they're so pretty and remind me of transitionals

HI:

I saw some Estate 6 and 8ctw earrings on Dover--but not in color you are looking for (and not certified).

cheers--Sharon

HI:

OP I hope you don't mind me tagging @Rubies-R-Me as she is a genius with finding Estate pieces (and fine ones at that). One more pair of eye can't hurt your search!

cheers--Sharon

I usually expand my search to all "cut qualities" according to whatever site's grading! And then scroll, LOL! Then you can evaluate table size vs. table reflection size & under-table leakage at a quick glance, for pavilion depth, so it's probably a tenth of a second looking at each photo. JA's photos are great, BN's are pretty good.

:love:Helloooo Sharon and double darn!
I never get notifications anymore.. not sure why.
Anyways.. glad I look at PS right now to see I was tagged.:D
Honored for the shout out about my "detective" skills.
I shall keep my eyes peeled for 6 carat tw earrings.. I do spend an inordinate time on Ebay looking at sparkles.
Happy New Year!!!!

Well these are certainly "go big or go home" that's for sure.
These are go a little smaller and save some $$.
I will keep looking.

Gilded Lane (athenaworth on PS) just posted this. GIA I I1 OEC, 2.94ct. She calls it a unicorn and it totally is!! This isn’t your normal I1! And for this price you’d have a ton of leeway to hunt for a no-compromises mate, recut if needed… If you’re not in a rush…

@yssie I am blown away that 2.94ct hasn’t been scooped up! I watched the video a dozen times right after it went live and was SO tempted. It’s an OEC, an I… almost exactly what I’m looking for… but I’m holding out for closer to 3.5ct.

The faceting is beautiful ❤️
