Hello PS :)

I haven't been here in a few years, but you guys are the best, and I'm ready to come back and hang around again. I'm on the hunt for what seems like a unicorn. I want a trillion cut sapphire, larger than 1 ct, kind of a greenish-blue, not dark/super saturated, but not so light it's washed out and pale. Kind of like a teal blue with flashes of bright blue and green? I'm trying to pull pictures of other stones I have liked in other cuts, to see if I can give good examples.

Anybody know of any out there? :)

I went through all the colored stone vendors on the list pinned up top, and never thought to look at Etsy. Wonder how reliable as a whole that platform is (in terms of color fidelity, etc).

I see that australian sapphires might be a good option, too.

Yes Chrono, I was surprised when it popped up but it does look quite nice and you're right in that I think it's where deskjockey got her Montana and and a few others since.

OP - I wouldn't drag my heels on that one if you are interested, lurkers and all. Trillion is going to be very difficult in the colour you want.

Haha, I know. I've been looking for a while. Had one a while back that I really loved, but the short version of the long, convoluted story for another time is that it was lost in a very sour way, so I'm looking to replace it.

Actually, I found the one from before, since I posted a picture here years ago! I loved this one, and I'm looking for something similar, if not a little bit lighter, so that etsy one is a good call. mytrilsaph1.jpg

Then the Etsy one looks to fit the bill!

+1! Nice find, Starzin. :) I looked last night and didn't have any very promising results.

I will say, though, that I found this and for heck's sake thought I'd throw it out there. It can't hurt, right? It's not a sapphire and it's more on the green side but it's the right cut and bright.

Haha - I saw that one too! And I loooove it (wish it had a little bit more blue!). But this is going in a ring that will be worn often and I wasn't sure if tourmaline was durable enough.

I've asked for some pictures of the sapphire from the etsy seller. It's a bit on the pricey end for my budget, but is very pretty. We'll see how it looks in other pictures.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. I'm sure you could bezel it, but I get why you want a sapphire now.

Keep us posted! :D

That is pretty - it's very similar to the one I had before (see above if you haven't), and since I have to get a new one, I wanted to get one a bit lighter. Really appreciate the help, though!

I thought that might be the case.
This one from John J. Bradshaw is smaller than a carat (.92 cts), but is lighter.

That's the only other stone I've found kind of close to your checklist.

You're welcome for the help and good luck again!
