Help me pick a diamond shape!

Hi - I have been trying on a few shapes and initially was really set on an elongated cushion. Its been somewhat tougher to find exactly what I like in that shape which led me try a few round diamonds and I liked them much more than anticipated.

Sharing a few photos - let me know which shape you think looks better + if there's another shape that would like nice on my hand! I am looking to set it in a simple yellow gold band.

1. Round - ~2 Carat


2. Round - ~2.3 Carat (would likely go slightly smaller than this, but bigger than the 2 carat)



3. Elongated Cushion - ~2.3 Carat and 1.12 L/W ratio (less elongated than I'd like, but having an easier time finding these L/W ratios. Think this reminds me too much of a princess cut, what do you think? Would have to lower carat to stay in budget)



4. Elongated Cushion - ~2.3 Carat (This faced up huge and had a L/W ratio ~1.25 which I loved. The specs weren't great and it was too much of a crushed ice effect for my taste. I love the dimensions and size, but know it'll be tough to find something that faces up as big in budget. Seeing this after the round makes me think it looks a bit harsh on my hands / makes my hands look larger, what do you think?)



5. Radiant - ~2.2 Carat (Didn't end up loving how this looked, so stopped considering this shape)

Hmmmm, shape is very personal, however, have you tried Emerald cuts?

There are different Length to Width rations, and I would suggest a chubbier EC than a leaner EC, if you know what I mean.

#4 makes your fingers look long and lovely, IMHO. I agree with the above poster that it would be nice to see an Emerald cut on you, though!

I'm waiting on a 3 stone EC, so you know where my love lies, but I do agree with the others about going with a wider one if you decide to try it, or even with a radiant.

DK is right, it’s very personal. I like picture 4 the best. It looks classy and fits your finger beautifully.

I’ve always had round brilliant in the past and now I have a cushion. Some radiants I like and others not so much. You can have 2 stones with the same cut but look totally different.

I like elongated on you, plus you seem to have had a nice reaction to a 1.25 ratio, so go with your gut.
