Hi pricescopers! Thank you to all those who kindly guided me in my engagement ring search the past months before I realized my heart wanted an emerald. Can emerald experts weigh in on these 3 stones and if any are well cut (videos & GIA below)? I’m looking for a 3c+ eye clean emerald ~1.3 ratio, mounted on a plain platinum band (or side baguettes in the future).

1)3.19gvs2 (9.67x7.09x4.78 )
2)3.01fvs1 (9.38x7.05x4.71)
3)3.30 fvs2 (9.60x7.37x4.98 )

Thank you again. I’m excited to be close to finding the one!!

Not an emerald expert here - just wanted to say, yay for deciding that your heart wants an emerald cut!

FWIW, to my untrained emerald eyes, I prefer #3. But I defer to the experts.

How exciting! Looks like you are getting close! These stones are very close in stats to my F/VS2 ec. I'm not expert-I got engaged before pricescope existed. However, I think in ecs you should go with the higher color. Step cuts won't mask the color.

Can Kwiat send you ASET images of the 2 F color ecs? I would pick the best performing one between those 2.

On the videos, I cannot get their software to let me take a screen shot or grab, but the belly of stone two goes very dark on the bottom half on the video on stone 2. I don't know if it's the video or not, but watch it and move it slowly. The lower half gets very dark and almost blacks out at certain angles. You don't see the on and off flashes in the steps. Could it be the video? Maybe? Hard to tell and I can't grab it because their player won't let me.

Stone three looks like it has fatter steps rather than narrow steps. At the right spot ont he video, the bottom two steps on it go off or go black together. Again, maybe it's the video. Are these your only three choices?

I have an EC as well and I don't consider myself an expert, but just pointing out what I see on the videos.

Aset is an excellent idea for stones you are seriously interested in.

I'm not an expert. But I prefer the longer shoulders on #1 and #3. The shorter shoulders on #2 look too short for my liking.

I would Eliminate #2, look how many steps turn off simultaneously, process of elimination! 393EBA60-3B59-4D91-95A2-8EE54F1EFD00.png

#1 no, it has an etched channel.

#3 looks lovely

Just be careful of the clarity grading and where those imperfections are located. A step cut is like a large ball of mirrors and reflects everything, especially in a 3ct size. When I was hunting for mine I started off looking at VS1-2s and quickly realized I could see all the schmutz. I ended up getting a VVS2 that everyone agrees should have been graded a VVS1. No reflected schmutz anywhere.

So happy you are looking at emerald cuts now! I prefer them 1000 times over a radiant!

Number one looks promising. I'd ask about the etch channel but it's likely tiny and hopefully not a problem. Number three is a maybe, but I couldn't tell enough from the video in that one position. Number two is not as well cut and has a very large table. I'd personally be looking for 65 or less on the table so you don't have a flat top look.

I remember the previous discussion about buying locally, but I really would not limit my search to three stones. Was part of the decision to go with Kwiat having to do with an upgrade policy?

Here are some maybes if you are open to looking at more. At least you can compare prices somewhat. These have double value upgrade policies, I think, so if an upgrade policy is what you need, I'd ask Kwiat for more options.

Thank you so much ladies and diamondseeker! I did not see your replies until recently. The diamonds you showed me are sold :( Please let me know if you see other well cut emeralds online. I will check back instead of waiting for unreliable email notifications.

Yes I was thinking to buy from Kwiat because one day I’d like to upgrade to a 4-5carat emerald. I noticed the 3.3c emerald looks smaller next to a 3c cushion. Or maybe upgrade to another shape. Like you said diamondseeker, there are different lovely diamonds. Hard to only pick one ha!

Unfortunately kwiat returned the 3.19gvs2 stone back to virtual inventory, but I think this might be the one on JA (can request GIA to confirm):

I also found the 3.3fvs2 on blue Nile. This is the exact diamond kwiat is offering me for 60k set on a plain platinum band. What do you think of the cut from the below video? Should I ask kwiat to update the GIA cert (from 2015) or it’s not important?

Is this the one? If not please help me find a better diamond. Many thanks again!
