I am trying to get an engagement ring with 7K budget.

My local jeweler from Korea showed me this diamond for $6010

And I ran few scoring
HCA 0.7
Rarecarats 18/18
Stonealgo 9.6

The things I do not like about it are 4.0% girdle and 40.6 PA.

Here is the link

I found another one in bluenile which looks more beautiful to me. This one has 35.0/40.8 and girdle 3.0% but 0.05 carat lower.

Do you recommend to buy from the local jeweler? Which one is better?

Thanks

First one sure doesn’t look like a FL stone to me. Have BN verify the video is incorrect?
Edit - I just chatted with BN and they confirmed it’s wrong, they’ll load the right one.

Why do you want FL clarity? I ask because I want to make sure you’re understanding that it will cease to be FL the moment it’s set.

Thanks for the reply.
And I really appreciate your check with BN.

I (and my gf) want FL clarity just because we want our marriage to be flawless :)

I think the problem with FL clarity (especially FL clarity and D color) is that it significantly cuts down on your choices. And as @yssie said, if will no longer be FL as soon as its set. I think you might be shooting yourself in the foot a bit, since what makes diamonds so beautiful is their cut. I would strongly recommend opening up to D/E color and VVS clarity. That way you can have many more options.

Thanks for the advice.
I found this diamond E VVS1

Back to the question,
34.5/40.6 4% girdle vs. 35.0/40.8 3% girdle
Which one is better?

All three diamonds are in the similar price range.

I checked with BN and they told me it is external dust (very weird). And I made another chat with them, so they sent the first one back to the vendor to check if it is really dust.

The reason no one is answering this question is because the numbers on a report are averaged and rounded. They, and tools like HCA, can quickly weed out the non-contenders, but once you’ve narrowed your list down to feasible contenders you need more information (imaging) to judge further.

Neither number combination is better than the other. However, the E VVS you selected has rather questionable optical symmetry - you can see how the arrowheads and arrowshafts don’t line up in the video. There’s nothing in the report that tells you this.

Those videos are really important here.

For the first one BN confirmed me it is dust and sent me magnified image.

And this one is the magnified image for the same one from the local jeweler.

My questions are:
1. Why do they look so different?
2. Is this image enough to judge? (Without the video)??
Here is the image of the second diamond as a reminder.

Thanks

Thanks for the recommendation.
I looked at it and it has the ideal proportion on the report.
But my concern for this one is faint fluorescence. Is it okay??

Faint fluorescence shouldn't have any impact on the appearance of this stone.

Do you think this one is better than the one from the local jeweler? I attached the magnified images for that diamond.

Yes, because like the other posters said, I would not recommend a flawless diamond which will lose its flawless distinction as soon as it's set. Also, as you said, the 4% girdle is not ideal. And 34.5/40.6 works but there are other proportions I prefer more.

I'm curious, why does a stone lose its flawless distinction once set? Is that true for all levels of clarity?

It’s as @Kim N said. FL means no external or characteristics are present under 10x magnification; mounting the stone demands applying stressors to the surface.

Just based on the numbers and pictures, I would lean towards the 40.6/34.5/57 with the 75% lowers...those nice thick arrows are beautiful!
The girdle thickness is at the top of what is usually recommend, so I would not worry one bit about it. Slightly thicker girdle usually means a bit more durability, to boot.

The flawless diamond was graded in 2020. There is a high chance it is no longer flawless.
