Hey Ladies,

Although I''m not officially off the LIW list yet, I would appreciate some opinions on dresses because our wedding is going to happen by next month - yikes! I have one of these dresses on hold, but I''m not telling which one . . .

I''m also not sure I love it as much after seeing it in pictures, but I wanted to get some non-biased opinions.

My first thought was that I liked #4 the best, but on second looks, I changed my mind to #2. I like that it''s a little different that the now ever-so-popular strapless dress & I think the cross in the back is awesome. I''m not crazy about the other 2, 2 & 4 are definitely most flattering for your body (I hope you picked one of those 2!!!)

I''m not sure where you are in the country, but any of these dresses would be quite cold for a February wedding where I am! brrrrrrrrr!

Good luck!

I''m in Texas, and we will most likely elope to Mexico or the Caribbean for our first vow exchange, and it will just be the two of us. There will probably be a larger celebration during the summer in Lake Tahoe.

Thanks for your input!

I love the ribbons on 4. It is great on you as well. Number 2 looks hot on you, just not sure if it will feel as ''bridal''.

I went with #2. I think it''s the most flattering to your figure and if you''re running off to Mexico or the Caribbean, it will be perfect!

#2 looks the best on your figure. I am a little confused about your lack of proposal and your wedding in a months time. You must be a nervous wreck!

I like #4, but thats because it is differnt. Good Luck getting everything done so fast!

Long story short - my boyfriend''s company has an incentive trip that happens only if they make their numbers, and I can only attend if we''re married. Well, my b/f had intended to propose some time in the spring, but because the company surprisingly made their numbers, and the dates of the trip were announced to be March 19th - we''re in a scramble to get everything sorted out prior to that. I guess we''re unofficially engaged as of this weekend, but he wants to do everything "right", so he''s had to move up his ring/proposal plan, and I have had to start my search for a dress that will be appropriate for any kind of a wedding or celebration.

So yes, I''m a nervous wreck.

wow, it must be some trip

You have such a great body it''s very hard for me to decide. Which dress do you fell is the one?

I definitely vote #2. It would be perfect for "running away" to get married. Also, it looks like it would pack better. Your husband to be will have his socks knocked off with such a sexy bride.

It''s really more that he promised me I wouldn''t miss yet another one - I''ve missed 2, and then have had to be excited for the fun he''s having without me. The company spoils them rotten, and the last trip was to the Palmilla One & Only in Los Cabos, and the one before that the Four Seasons Hawaii. Then, we went back to Cabo in 04, and stayed in a much lower grade hotel, and also a trip to Jamaica in 05, both of which I paid for because I was trying to help the engagement process along, while still getting to go on a vacation with my BF. Anyway, it may be selfish, but it''s about time anyway.

Am I the only one that can''t see the pictures??

I wanna see the pretty dresses!!

Actually, you ladies are all confirming what I originally thought. I have #4 on hold, but I was so on the fence about #2 that I''ve decided not to purchase #4 after all. I think I was being a bit hasty as this was my first and only day of wedding dress shopping. I so appreciate all of the feedback, and will probably be bugging you with yet another one of these threads before the month is out.

You''re doing the right thing by taking your time finding the right wedding gown. Make sure the gown speaks to you!

Lauren,
You look great!
I was torn between 4 and 2 myself. It depends on how you want to present yourself on your wedding day.
4 is more traditional, and very lovely. 2 would be a fabulous destination wedding dress.

I vote for number 2, flatters your figure! Beautiful choice.

I was torn between 4 and 2 as well, but I ended up voting for 2. Gorgeous! And slightly off-topic, I''m sorry you''ve missed two of the previous trips. I know you talked about that in another thread. Personally, I think if employees are allowed to bring a guest, the company shouldn''t worry about who that guest is. But that''s a rant for another day.

Okay.. I voted for #1.. but I am really stuck between number 1 and 4.. They are both great! I think the choice between which one of them depends on what the wedding is going to be like. #1 is a little more sexy, while #4 is a little more traditional.

I am clearly outvoted here, but while dress number #2 looks a ZILLION times better on you, than it did on me.. I really DON''T like it. I don''t know why.. its just not wedding-y enough to me.. Unless you are getting married on the beach..which.. if you are.. go for it..

And number 3 is just not flattering at all.. Maybe it doesn''t fit you?

I like the ribbon look of dress #4, but I like dress #2 best on you. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Melissa!!! Help! Why don''t the pictures show up on my computer? ????

Hi Lauren.

I think that both #2 and #4 are beautiful.
1.gif
At first I immediately chose #4 because it is beautiful and the most flattering on you. But I think it is a little too formal for a elopement to Mexico or Hawaii or a small destination wedding. It looks more ball-gownish, for a more formal wedding.

So #2 is beautiful and looks good on you too. It also definitely goes well with the the "run off to get married someplace tropical" idea. It is very romantic in a sexy, simpler, romantic getaway type of dress.

But here''s my worry with #2 -- I am concerned that it will not look as pretty when you are not standing on some sort of platform -- the picture you posted shows that dress #2 at the bottom has a very pretty cascading look both in the front and back. I don''t think it will look the same once you shorten the dress and have it altered. You might be able to get a pretty look on the bottom by wearing very high heels, but I don''t think even 3 inch or 4 inch heels would have the same effect.

Also, if you''re getting married on the beach I think you most likely will wear flip flops or no shoes at all. I''ve been to 2 weddings in Mexico and no matter what the bride(s) had pre-planned, they ended up not wearing shoes because the ceremony was on the beach and there was no way she could walk through the sand in any kind of heels.

So then I turn to #4 again, because it really does look beautiful on you and very flattering. It also looks like the perfect length, and any alterations won''t change the overall impression of the dress.

So I gues I''m not that much help, I''m sorry!
15.gif
You look great in either one, so I''m sure either will be perfect.

I wavered on 4 and 2 but ultimately chose 2 because I like the way it flatters your neckline. but I like hte ribbons on 4... sounds like 2 is the winner if you are doing a quick destination wedding though!! congrats on you almost engagement! hehe.

Did you see the dress jennifer anniston is wearing on the cover of this months instyle. I saw it at the gym today and I thought, WOW that would look great on Lauren. Check it out! It would be a perfect destination dress, I think it was only around $500 too. I will try to find a pic!

I think this poll has helped a ton - thank you so much for all of your input!

I''m going to go look at some more bridal shops this weekend. I actually liked #3 a bit, but it was a size too small as they didn''t have one in my size or the size above, so it looks like I''m a little sausage shoved in there.

I''m taking elements of what everyone has said, and applying that to my next trip to a bridal salon, which will hopefully prove to be more successful. My real problem is that I need something that can work in Mexico or Vegas, and again in Tahoe in the summer - all outdoors, and somewhat informal. I have no idea where the wedding will be, and when, so there''s this added element of of stress that I wish wasn''t there - all before even having a formal proposal.

They are all great, but I really love #4

dodger girl.. I have no idea why the pics won''t show up on your computer. They should.. They show up fine on mine. I''d try deleting your cookies and re-logging into PS.

i voted for #4. i love the strapless, and liked this one better on you than the first one. you look great in all of them, but i like #4 the best
1.gif

Much like everyone else, I am really torn between 2 and 4. But I really love strapless, so I chose 4. 2 is probably better for the destination event you''re planning though! Post more pics when you go dress shopping again, it''s too fun

Mrsflutter - thanks for the heads up on the InStyle. I''ll check it out this evening.

I''m power Ebaying today - I might have some interesting finds after a couple of auctions close today, but we''ll see!
