Hello,

A few years ago whilst on holiday in the US (San Diego/La Jolla area) I saw a ‘9ct Diamond Line Bracelet set with (what they described as) Emerald/Asscher cut diamonds. it was in Platinum. It had a very slight graduation to the bracelet and I LOVED IT! The price was ‘just about doable’, but we were on the first few days of a lifetime trip and I was out solo…so I didn't buy it. I have regretted it ever since!

For the last few years my Husband and I have taken every opportunity to ask in suitable jewellers we have come across in the UK, and others when on holiday, with no success.

We have a trusted UK jeweller ‘on alert’ incase he sees anything like it. Unfortunately, the UK seems to favour Tennis Bracelets with RBC at the moment and not Step Cut Line Bracelet’s, which is what I LOVE, these do not seem to be ‘the vogue’ at the moment in the UK, so UK secondhand jewellers have said they are not bothering with them! For once I think I’m ahead of the curve!

My husband will be in Seattle and I’d like to ask for a list of ‘good and trustworthy’ Jewellers stores he could approach ‘with confidence’, as he’s not as Diamond knowledgable as everyone here , to see if they have anything similar to the La Jolla Bracelet I loved..I’m hoping the US has more available, as I saw the one I loved in the US originally .
Then if he sees something he thinks could work, he could photograph it for me…etc.

The one I loved looked like this…sorry about the poor photo I‘ve zoomed in. 9cts colour G/H, Clarity VS, Platinum.

Thank you for reading , sorry to be so wordy!
I’d be very grateful for recommended Seattle Jewellers we could feel comfortable with, or suggestions of any such bracelets for sale at the moment. Thank you :)

Dear Hound Dog,

I appreciate your taste. I happen to have a RB and Emerald cut line bracelet I purchased 18 years ago. I love it. I also think step cuts are TIMELESS. Since it is not "in vogue" right now you may be able to purchase one at at better value. That is if dealers don't tack on current diamond prices to it. I put some feelers out for you, if I get some responses from vendors/jewelers I know I will get back to you. Would you share what price point your target purchase is? That will help the vendors and or jewelers. Thanks

Maybe look here:

Not sure how expensive they are and if they’d have what you want but I did see my first ever CBI in person here. If Wink had his diamonds here I’d trust they’re reputable.

We went to a roadshow with antique and preloved pieces plus they have a few pieces of their own. I like going in to look whenever I’m in Issaquah. It’s not too far from Seattle.

Dear HoundDog,

One of my bestie jewelers (I have a few) here is Sarasota, FL-Thayer Jewelers has a 10.68 RBC in platinum, $23,000. I told him you want step cut in a line bracelet mount, not RBC. He does have a 14 CT Ascher cut in 18KT four prong in inventory out on loan to another jeweler in LA, he is asking $28,000. That one would be the one for me. Here is his website, thayerjewelers.com. Check it out and good luck.

I have a pendant made by Green Lake Jewelry Works. They specialize mostly in custom projects and especially vintage inspired and unique type pieces. The service was good, but I don't know if they would have a bracelet like that in stock. I would call ahead to ask.

The jewelery store I would recommend with complete confidence is Gordon James. They're located in Bellevue (ritzy suburb of the greater Seattle area). They specialize in heirloom quality stones and pieces. Their craftsmanship is exquisite. Conveniently there are several jewelry stores located along the same street as Gordon James there in Bellevue, including Green Lake Jewelry Works within a few blocks walk.

Here is their website. I drool over many of their pieces. The quality and size of the colored stones they use in their pieces is amazing.

Hi, not in Seattle, but perhaps you could see this one in real life?

Hi Lulu_ma, Thank you so much, thats almost what I want its just that that one is claw/prong set and I really would like a ?Channel type smooth setting…but its so nearly there. Thank you for looking for me and I will contact that seller to see if he has any of the Channel set ones..or maybe go and see that as you say!

Thank you so much. =)2

Hi emmy12,
Thank you so much, this is exactly the sort of recommendation I was hoping for and their jewellery looks lovely. I will email ahead and see if they having anything suitable. On the website its their modern jewellery and some bracelets made to order..although if the prices worked well that might be a way to achieve it..here in the UK having it made to order is out of my budget..the Secondhand/Preloved market here is much better Value.

Thank you so much emmy12, thats great info =)2

Hi Diamond Best Friend,
Thank you so much for getting in touch with your friends and searching for me.
The 14ct Asscher cut sounds amazing, I love Asschers, but unfortunately its out of my budget and its also in a Prong setting when I really I do want a ?Channel, linear and smoothsetting. I’m looking for that “river-like flow of diamonds”.

The price of the 10.68CT RBC ( although as you know I do want a Step cut) is hovering on the top of my budget now!
I really I cant go over 18000USD now, a very sad combination of the last few days performance of the GBP to USD rate..almost crying here when I heard how the rates had changed against me as my husband is actually going to the US! Sods Law:roll2:

I do understand my budget might (with the current exchange GBP-USD rate) be making this difficult for me…in addition to finding the bracelet difficult enough to find, but I’m willing to continue to wait….or drop total Diamond weight a little, if I love the bracelet enough and it fits my dream to make it come within budget.

The one I loved was 9ct…I could accept @ 8ct…I don't really want to go below say 7.5cts ideally!
Having said all that..if I simply love it…I might be able to stretch, but I wouldnt stretch for something that doesn't fulfil the dream and is a compromise too far.

Thank you so much Diamond Best Friend, I will have a look at the link and recommendations. =)2

Hi again Lulu_ma,

I’ve contacted them and they say they can make one to Order as a Channel set bracelet, but the images they sent weren’t quite so aesthetically pleasing but maybe that can be discussed and negotiated. I’ve no idea yet on price etc but they’re happy for me to visit their store in London to look at lots of their work…so it may come to something!
I just wondered if you’d ever bought anything from them yourself?
Thank you so much Lulu_ma. =)2

Hi @Hounddog I have never bought anything from this particular UK jeweler (I'm in the U.S.). I found the bracelet just by doing an Ebay search. But conveniently, they are local to you:)

Hopefully, they can help you find what you want. With the current exchange rate, it might make sense for you to deal with someone local (especially at those prices).

Hi Lulu_ma,

Thank you for replying so quickly. I think you’re correct on everything…those Exchange Rates are just not working for me at the moment!

Thank you so much and best wishes =)2

Hi Hounddog,

You are so welcome. Good Luck

I hope they can make something in your price range, or point you in the right direction if their work will be out of budget. Their customer service was excellent when we went in person. Ultimately they were out of budget for the pendant we were looking to make so we decided on Green Lake instead. The BF has compared all the ER's we've looked at since then to the ones we looked at there....and all the "others" have been found lacking  so even someone with zero knowledge of jewelery could tell they made something special there.

You could try Sholdt as they are located in Seattle.

It does say by appointment only on their website but I have popped by twice when visiting my brother and they were always great to me.

@Hounddog did anything come of your SO's searches in Seattle? I was recently there and visited the Turgeon-Raine store. If he hasn't gone yet I would also highly recommend them!

I think your trust is well placed @winnietucker. I enjoyed working with them.
