Hello we have recently purchased a diamond online ( don't have it physically yet and there is option to return). I have some questions on this and provided the video and certificate as attachment. Can you please let me know your thoughts on this? Background and queries below: Consideration was to get a diamond within budget (paid £2.4k inc of vat in the uk) in 1.5 carat range with excellent cut to ensure sparkle. So compromises made on the colour and inclusions. I wanted to get expert eye opinion on the following: 1) this is an i1 but inclusions seemed transparent and my question is whether these will be too noticeable in real size (not magnified) and blend in without taking away from the beauty of a diamond? 2) The diamond has strong blue flourescence (sbf). There is conflicting/confusing info on this on the Internet. Hence I am a bit confused. I thought for a low colour diamond strong blue flour. would be fine but now wondering if this would make the diamond look hazy and in particular if this diamond looks hazy ( due to strong blue flourescence or something else) or does it look OK ie not hazy/oily/cloudy? I really don't want a dull diamond. Can you please let me know your view on this based on the video?
3) in terms of colour, I only wear yellow gold jewellery as I have a warm skin tone. So intention is to set this in a yellow gold ring. However for the top part (ie prong/basket) would you recommend white gold or platinum if I want to avoid increasing the strength of the yellow tone of the diamond?

The cut of this stone isn't what we would typically recommend. Is it for a gift to someone else, or are you the wearer? This stone won't look white IRL, so you should make sure that either you (or the recipient) is ok with it.

Even though the cut is rated as "excellent", that unfortunately doesn't guarantee a well cut stone, and this is one of those instances.

The stone is for me and I don't mind slightly creamy colour as I wear yellow gold and have warm skin tone but I wouldn't want a stone that looks stained due to colour. Do you think this one is looking creamy or stained? For the cut is OK to compromise for a 1.55ct at this price point? Do you think it will look dull? Any view on hazzyness?

I am not an expert at all, but I can tell you about my own personal experience, which is that a lot of this is down to personal taste and your own limitations.

For me cut is the priority over carat, a smaller but well cut stone will catch the eye far more in my opinion than a bigger and duller stone. I’m more willing to compromise on colour and clarity.

Colour is hugely subjective. I found L-N to be creamy but they all have different tones within that. I haven’t actually seen lower in real life, but I would imagine QR would be more noticeably yellow. This can be absolutely beautiful, have a look at @Cerulean’s thread.

As it’s already ordered and you have the option to return, I would wait and see what you think. You can post pics and videos here for feedback. As it’s a modern brilliant there is a lot that can be assessed by numbers versus say other shapes or old cuts. I like old cuts so I don’t know about numbers - have you tried the HCA tool?

It will be noticeably tinted. Whether that bothers you or not is very subjective. I personally would never sacrifice cut for size, so this wouldnt be a stone I would choose for myself.

I personally would be concerned about the diamond being I1 clarity. My fears are the inclusions might possibly affect light return and also possibly affect the structural integrity of the diamond. (Not saying they definitely will, but in the I-range you are in a more risky zone). For me, this stone would be a pass for both clarity and quality of cut reasons.

Instead, I'd opt for a diamond that is smaller than I originally wanted, but higher in clarity and a better cut, from a company that has an upgrade policy so that I could go up in size later when I had the money to do so.

To me* this stone falls a little further into the tinted category than "creamy". Obviously, creamy means different things to different
people. The cut isn't what we would normally recommend and it may show more color under the table than if it had a better
crown/pavilion angle combination. Since it has a good return policy and you've already purchased it, let us know what you think
when you get it.
