I am debating on two stones. Both look beautiful from zoomed video but doubt on potential risks.
1. E color, 1.7, IF clarity, HCA 2.5, price about $24k
2. G color, 1.7, VS2 clarity, HCA 0.9, price about 13k (per in-person inspection from the online service, appear to be eye clean even though in the 10X zoom in video a dark spot show on the table)

Now I feel that the G color option's sparkle really got me. However, the service person I talk to saying be careful as the feather may keep growing and turn into chip that eventually showing like crack in the stone that you may need to buy another stone in the future. Is this true that how terrible feather would be? I thought it's common in most stones?

The E color option's IF sounds great but I would prefer the G option if both appear eye clean and more spark in the G, also saving about 50% of my bucks. Just got worries about the feather comment. Would you help checking the clarity images to provide expert opinions?
Thank you all!

I've been on Pricescope a long time and I don't recall anyone having a problem with a feather growing. Can it happen? Sure,
with the right smack, any diamond can chip/fracture. Is it likely to happen? I would say no. Most of us insure our stones
so if something did happen we could recover.

I also wanted to point out that inclusions are listed in the order of severity. In the case of the G, the cloud is the grade-making
inclusion, then the crystal, then the feather.

Edit...me thinks someone is trying to scare you with the feather issue.

VS2 crack? Run! Seriously, this advice is sketchy at best.

Are you open to other options? If so, we can help you search.

Yeah, it's total BS in my view. I wouldn't want to biy from anyone who gave such nonsense "advice" just to scare someone into paying 50% more for a worse stone

Yes please, any eye clean best for the bucks, the bigger the better lol

This one is superbly cut.

This is a little less well cut but should still be a good performer, and you get a big size boost.

Uy vey....
Feathers DO NOT GROW
As has been pointed out, hit any diamond correctly with the right force and it will break or chip. However a feather inside a diamond isn't a potential danger
Whoever told you this feather fairytale either doesn't understand diamonds, or they're perfectly ok misinforming people.

then- the "investment" angle....hooo boy!!
What a load of bull on the IG post.
J/SI2's are demand????
He doesn't mention that in either case, selling a stone purchased retail, back into the trade will create a HUGE loss.
Diamonds are NOT a financial investment, and anyone claiming they are is in the same category as the feather person.
EIther they don't know, or they're comfortable lying.
