I feel in love with the Amsale Arrianna dress about 2 months ago. Yesterday I caught word that the only store that carries her brand is closing, and all dresses were to be marked down. (Original price of the dress was 5,200 dollars.) I was really hoping that it would be marked down to about half off, I went today to see it and the sample (in almost perfect condition) was marked down 30%, so the price is about 3,650$.
It was the first (of a few) dresses that I really loved and the only one that has made my mother and myself cry, and the first time I put it on I said to the sales lady, "this is the dress I will marry P in.".
So 30% off is fantastic, however my FI has seen pictures of me in another dress and says he prefers the second one, which is 3,600$ before the many, many alterations I have in mind. (I do not have an up loadable picture, they are on my cell phone.)

I am terrified that this sample is going to sell, but it may go down further if I can wait it out a bit.

EHHHHHHHHHHHhhHHH???????????

oh, having trouble attaching pictures, here''s a link to my original thread, it is the second dress..

here

no i lied, it is the first dress...........
so so sorry...

You might consider asking admins to move this to the Brides World Wide page it seems more appropriate there and we will help you!

Ditto Allie - better for the BWW thread and will get more traffic for sure.

I say though if there is a dress that truly speaks to YOU, that''s the dress you should get.

Ditto to this! They are all lovely choices!

I actually like the second dress more than the first, but I''m not sure about the bow. $3600 before alterations blows my mind, though! The last couple of friend''s daughters weddings we were involved with spent MUCH less than that, and the dresses were beautiful.

I love it! Can you afford to do it? If so, I say go for it. If not, maybe try to go custom since you have so many alterations in mind.

If I ever find somthing I''m terrified someone else will buy I take it as a sign to rush back there and grab it at first chance. If you''re that scared of someone else snapping it up, you must love it to bits and it''s the dress for you.

If you can afford it now, go for it, if someone else buys it you''ll feel dissapointed and any other dress you get instead will just feel like second best.

I nearly bought an Amsale myself. They're lovely, though I admit to preferring #2 (without the bow), which I believe you said your FI preferred as well. I just think #1 is more flattering in the torso. But if you'd want to make a million alterations to #2, it's probably not the right dress for you. At that price point, you should love the dress as-is, or just about!

Anyhow, since the store carrying the Amsale is going out of business, have you tried negotiating on the price? It's my understanding that there's often a bit of wiggle room on samples anyhow, and if if they're going out of business you'd think they'd be extra motivated to move merchandise. If you go in and offer what you're comforatable paying, on a cash and carry basis, they may take it. The worst they can say is no.

Long story short, tell them what your budget is for the Amsale and see if they'll take it!
